Welcome to the Cottage on Bunker Hill Weekly Rewind. This is my online magazine where I recap the week, new items I’ve come across that I think you will like, and the best things I’ve found this week around the web.
Weekly Rewind
Hey friends! How’s it going in your part of the world? We’ve finally been getting the prettiest snowfalls in New Hampshire! We had a couple of small snowstorms that coated all the trees and I honestly couldn’t stop staring out the windows.
I trekked out and took photos and videos of how pretty it all looked, I felt bad even leaving footprints in the pristine snow!!
This is my favorite tree on the property. This maple sits behind my garden and I can see it from my bedroom window. It has the coolest shape too. She’s a beauty in all seasons and always puts on a show in October.
This path into the woods is right behind that maple and I thought it looked spectacular. I was going to walk in a little to grab a few more pics but there were branches falling from the weight of the snow and giant piles of snow started falling from the sun hitting the upper branches…if I got hit by a branch no one would even come looking for me until they were looking for supper!!!!
New Project
I just have one new project to share with you this week! I was having computer issues…which is the worst thing when you are a blogger and depend on it to get your work done!! Well, I got my laptop in July 2019 when I started Cottage on Bunker Hill so it was getting tired!! I’ve typed about a zillion words on it!
But back to the project…I think you will like it!!
Although it’s made with grapevine hearts you could definitely keep this up through the Springtime with the moss and dried baby’s breath.
See How to Make This Moss Grapevine Heart Door Hanger Here!!
Did you see the other 2 heart-shaped projects that I made the week before?? Well, if you did scroll down a little more on the page…but if you didn’t check them out!!

Good Deals!
Don’t sleep on Walmart if you are looking for cool planters!
Seriously, they have some of the most stylish-looking planters for LOW prices…I mean I feel like I haven’t come across a bargain in forever!!
I ordered a few online for delivery but my local store seemed to be pretty well stocked when I stopped by later in the week. They are way out back in the garden section (at least at my supercenter).
I’ve gotten a few new plants lately and was looking for some new places to put them. But the bubble planters would make cool vases too with a few stems of artificial greenery, if I was going to add real flowers I would hide a small vase of water inside the planter because I don’t know if it’s watertight.
- White Bubble Planter ($7.88)
- Alexander Planter ($5.48)
- Chad Planter (back right)
- Black Bubble Planter ($7.88)
One home styling tip: even if you don’t have black as part of your color scheme it’s great to put just one piece into a space. It really elevates the look of a room!
Don’t believe me…check out any of the rooms on the Pottery Barn website and notice there is always something with black in all the rooms they style.
I’m using the Black Bubble Planter over on my tall bookshelf in the back of my living room with a Hoya my Mom gave me a while back.
Another cool thing that I saw at Walmart was this vertical seed starting station by Ferry-Morse. It is kind of pricey at $49. I’ve never a wooden rack for seed starting in the stores before. Also, my husband says I don’t include him enough on the blog…so here are his hands and feet!! LOL
I’m going to see if I can find something similar at a lower price because it would be great for someone starting seeds for the first time this year!
Have you ever started flower seeds before? It’s not that hard and honestly, it feels good to have my hands in the dirt a little in the wintertime!!
Another bonus is that it opens an entire world of flowers that you can grow that aren’t carried in nurseries!
