Welcome to the Weekly Rewind, my online magazine where I get to share some behind-the-scenes, fun places I visited that I think you will like, and what I saw online this week that I want to share.
Weekly Rewind
I woke up to snow this morning, which should seem normal for January in New Hampshire, right?? We have had such a snow-less winter over here so far! It snows a teeny bit and then melts a few hours later.
It looks pretty out my office window, if I wasn’t in my slippers I would run out and snap a picture.
Ugh, I am still on slow motion this year so far! But it seems to be the consensus…2023 hasn’t been motivating anyone so far.
To cheer myself up and get out of my mid-winter slump I treated myself to a few new houseplants. I’m telling you it’s a simple way to boost your mood quickly!
You can read about Why You Need More Houseplants and the benefits and my ideas for decorating with them.
I hit a couple antique stores and thrift stores this weekend. Definitely one of my favorite hobbies!! Savers was my first stop on Saturday, I actually was dropping off a box of mugs…why do we always hoard mugs???
Sad to report the home dept. was pretty bare, I was so bummed because last January at this time I had one of my best thrift hauls!! Check out how I decorated my kitchen with thrift finds here.
One of my favorite spots to find vintage goods is The Collector’s Eye in Stratham, NH. It’s in a big ‘ole New England barn. The front porch is always loaded with gems. I braved the cold & wind checking out every last piece.
My favorite display was this old footed urn with the blooming paperwhites and branches. Note how by just sticking a few twigs into a flower arrangement really elevates the look. I was crushing on the little oil painting that you can see in the upper left…but it was $69 and more than I was willing to spend.
On Thursday this week you can see my finds and how I am using them in my winter home. Spoiler, I only found 2 things yesterday…but you will like them!
New On The Blog
Would you believe that those aren’t real branches??? You have to check out my Terrain inpsired moss & lichen branches that I DIYd for a fraction of their $68 price tag! You can make a set in about 15 minutes!!
Come see my new houseplant friends and see why I think you should go buy yourself a new plant!!
