The Cottage on Bunker Hill Weekly Rewind is my online magazine where I recap the week, share fun places I have visited, let you know about new items I’ve seen in the stores that I think you will love, and great ideas I’ve come across online during the week.
Weekly Rewind
Hey friends, How was your week?? Our beautiful Fall foliage is fading fast and the temps have been dropping into the 30s at night but luckily no frost yet!!
I’ll be going out in the garden this week to cut some of the flower heads so I can dry them and collect the seeds for next year’s garden.

This week I went to Ikea for the first time!! There aren’t very many in New England and the closest one is almost 90 miles from where we live in NH down in Massachusetts.
I almost thought I was going to leave empty-handed until the last section with all the plants!! I did grab a couple of live plants that I’m going to use in my Christmas decorating, a gorgeous deep green glass vase, a couple of fake strings of banana plants (I can’t keep the real ones alive!), and a cool wreath that I couldn’t resist!!
On a Target run last week I took a cruise through the Hearth & Hand w/ Magnolia department to see if they had any of the new Christmas stuff out yet. They had a few of the new things on display.
I thought these Stitch Stripe Woven Christmas Stockings were really cute! They sell for $14.99.
If you are planning on using traditional Christmas colors for your table this year the Ticking Stripe Napkins would look great. The napkins are made from a thick fabric too so had a nice weight to them.
Walmart has ALL the Christmas stuff out! There is so much this year. Some of the same decorations from last year but lots of affordable new merchandise too. I really loved the look of this Natural Wood & Rattan Garland.
Walmart has my Owl Tree Topper again this year, I had quite a few readers message me that it was out of stock last year when they went to get it. It comes with red berry sprigs by the pine cones but I pulled them out because this tree was all neutral colors.
On The Blog
I have a roundup of 15 decorating, DIY, and tablescape ideas for Thanksgiving. Can you believe that it’s almost November!!
I also shared all of the creative ways I add flowers and plants throughout my home and broke it down by season. Especially in the winter months having plants around helps lift my mood.
What I’m Loving This Week
Check out 13 Incredible Fall Tablescapes over on Bricks n Blooms. So many pretty ideas to scroll through!
You have to save this one! Look how adorable that tree is made out of scraps!! Rachel down at The Ponds Farmhouse has a few ideas for your holiday wrapping.
I love scrolling through Robyn’s photos, everything is so pretty and I find it so relaxing! I love the wall sconces she added and how to make inexpensive DIY Wireless Wall Sconces.
OK, I was influenced by something I saw on TikTok and bought a food chopper!! Seriously, why didn’t I have one of these gadgets in my kitchen!! I hate cutting onions and do it multiple times a week…I did the onions and peppers for tonight’s American Chop Suey in a minute and they are all the same size. Well spent 20 bucks!
Get ready…I’m going to be transitioning over to Christmas ideas & DIYs. I have lots of projects in the works that I think you will love! Today I was working on nature-inspired gift wrap ideas and will be posting that tomorrow.
For my last Fall hurrah, I’m putting together a virtual foliage tour of some of my favorite New England spots. Here is a pic from the top of Cannon Mountain in NH.
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great week! — Jennifer
