Welcome to the Weekly Rewind where I give a recap of the week, new projects that I am working on, places I’ve visited, and links that I think you will love that I’ve found.
Weekly Rewind
I hope you all had a nice 4th of July holiday! We have been taking some much-needed R&R.
What started out as a rainy, cruddy week turned into a perfect New England Summer week…blue skies & hot!
July 4th is one of my favorite holidays, I love everything about it! Spending time w/ friends & family, the BBQs, patriotic music, & of course fireworks.

After it rained almost every day in June it was so nice to see a stretch of sunny weather! My vegetable & cut flower garden is definitely struggling this Summer. I have to Plan B a couple of the flower beds because none of the seeds came up. (I think they drowned w/ all the rain) I’m going to fill them with quick-growing flowers and hope for a late frost!
Thankfully the perennial beds that run around my house are flowering!
What’s New
It’s a coastal vibe around here right now! I’ve had a couple of cute DIY projects & took you on a tour of a beautiful destination spot in Maine.
Take a look at the air plant terrariums that I made using seashells and sand. They are so fun!
A little under-the-sea inspiration! You have to see the pretty and easy ornaments that I made out of starfish and driftwood. In the Summer, they are perfect for hanging on a hook or cabinet knob.
A popular spot on the southern Maine seacoast is Marginal Way. It’s a mile-long walking path along the ocean with the rocky coastline on one side and flowers on the other (plus gorgeous homes). For my land-locked friends take a virtual tour…you can almost hear the waves!
See how I decorated with secondhand finds in my garden this year. I put my junk collection to good use!!
Links I Love
I have a cool app if you love birds! It’s the Merlin Bird ID by Cornell. You put the region where you live in when you are setting it up. It has photo ID, and a sound library, but my favorite feature is the sound ID in real-time where it identifies the birds chirping around you! It’s a free app too.

EYE CANDY
Who doesn’t love hydrangeas??!! Learn all you need to know to take care of them from Kim this week.
Yes, I know It’s Summer!
Yes, I know it’s 90º out and mid-July but Pottery Barn has the viral terracotta pumpkins back for this year! They sold out before most people even started thinking about decorating last year! So if you missed out, just order them and keep them in the box until September.
Have a great week!!
xo, Jennifer
Loved all of your beautiful projects, Jennifer. Our 4th was boring with me having to stay in after surgery. It’s the first 4th in a long time that we actually stayed indoors and was not outside.
Oh, you could have sat outside with a sparkler in each hand!!
