The Weekly Rewind is where I get to share what has been going on behind the scenes, things I’ve seen while out shopping that I think you would all like, and inspiring pictures and projects from around the web.
What’s Happening Around Bunker Hill
Wishing all the Mom’s out there a Happy Mother’s Day!
Here are two of my favorite pictures. On the left is my Mom with me and my baby brother, on the right is me after my son Lucas was born and his brother Brendan was meeting him for the first time.
My Mom and I look like twins, don’t we?? Also…what I would do for that forehead without a single line on it!!!
Well, this week certainly flew right by!! I’ve been busy trying to get my garden ready for the season and doing all the heavy grunt work…I am currently plopped down on my couch and I honestly don’t know if I can stand up after all the digging and shoveling I’ve been doing out there today!!
To combat my vole problem I’ve been emptying out my raised garden beds and putting metal hardware cloth along the bottom to prevent these little buggers from burrowing in…they can’t climb at least. It’s an expensive fix but at this point so is losing all my flowers and veggies!
After I got the hardware cloth down I refilled my bed and built a quick trellis for sweet peas. Then I planted the seeds.
Two packs of seeds down….5 million left! Oh, friends, I don’t know where I think I’m growing all these flowers!! If you drive by my house you will probably see me standing in front of my garden and staring…I’m trying to figure out where everything is going…oh, I really don’t want to expand my garden anymore (it sounds like too much work right now).
I made a big garden expansion last year and I definitely thought it was big enough.
Sage Farm Antiques
Thursday night I headed over to a local antique store Sage Farm Antiques in North Hampton, NH for their monthly weekend show. For May the show was titled “May You Bloom and Grow” and the vendors had brought in all kinds of garden goodies!
At the show, I met up with Ann from Dabbling & Decorating! She lives up the coast in Maine and even though we live pretty close together this was the first time we had a chance to meet in person!
She left with some great finds from the show too! I’ll be sharing my cool garden finds later this month
On the blog…
This week I shared a few updates I’ve made around the house. I added a new bookcase to my living room and shared Tips for Styling a Bookcase.

I also made a few other updates in my room and have some Easy Ways to Refresh Your Living Room too.
One of the easy tips I shared was to change up your throw pillows. Such a quick way to change the vibe of your space!
In exciting news, you can see my living room when you are on the Pottery Barn webpage for the Palna throw pillow cover!! How cool is that!

Around the Web
One thing that I want to add to my garden this year is a water feature, luckily Stacy of Bricks N Blooms saved me the time of searching and found 27 Soothing Water Feature Ideas.
Kim over at Shiplap & Shells has 12 Terrific Tips for Creating a Low Maintenance Garden. She put together such an informative guide for new or seasoned gardeners.
I love having a big salad for lunch and I’m always looking for new yummy ideas! Amy put together 15 Summer Dinner Salads. I want to make the Chipotle Chicken Cobb right now (I’m so hungry but want to finish writing first!!)
This is a clever idea for using eggs!! I am definitely going to try this eggshell fertilizer in my garden this year!
This is a pretty idea for growing sweet peas…especially if you are tight on space!!
Here are 15 Easy DIY Cucumber Trellis ideas to make for your garden.
I’ve used this trellis from the Gardener’s Supply Company for over 10 years and it’s worth every penny, I have even left it out over the snowy New Hampshire winters and it’s in perfect shape!
This is a great tutorial for How to Age Terra Cotta Pots w/ Chalk Paint.
In fact, here’s a piece of chicken I just cooked in the Power XL. I rub a teeny bit of olive oil on both sides and season it with the McCormick Montreal Chicken Grill Mates Seasoning and it comes out perfect every time.
Thanks for spending a few minutes of your day with me!
Upcoming this week is a fun Patriotic blog hop on Tuesday. Can you believe it’s only a few weeks until Memorial Day??? Can’t wait to pull out my sandals!! On Friday is the monthly Thrifty Style Team blog hop…I have a fun little project for you!! Don’t forget to stop by and see!!
