Welcome to the Cottage on Bunker Hill weekly rewind. This is my online magazine sharing great finds from during the week, what’s been going on behind the scenes during the week & more.
Weekly Rewind
How has everyone been? I’m happy that February seems to be going by quickly here in New Hampshire!! After an arctic blast last weekend, we are having warm temps for this time of year and it looks like mild weather is ahead for the foreseeable future!! It is really giving me Spring fever!!
I can tell how the sun’s position is changing in the sky and getting higher. When I’m in my office the sun is beaming through the windows in the afternoon now…before it never got higher than the tall pines behind my house. I’m like a cat soaking in the rays all day!!

I’ve been busy planning my garden too! I have my seed catalogs dog-eared and circled. I have a bunch of seeds left over from last year that I’ve stored. I’m in growing zone 5b/6a so I haven’t started any seeds indoors yet…I don’t typically plant tender annuals until Memorial Day weekend.
Johnny’s Selected Seeds always has a great selection if you are looking for a dependable place to order from…plus they are a local New England small business.
I get my vegetable plants from a farm around the corner from me, she sells the best tomato plants, and are only $10 for a gallon container!
This was Wake Robin Farm last year…look at how gorgeous the plants are!!!
Have you ever started seeds before?? I used to be so intimidated by it until I actually tried it!! One thing that is awesome is how far the lights have come. The new grow lights are so light and use LED bulbs and weigh next to nothing! You can see all my tips for starting seeds and give it a whirl this year.
Looking for a cute outfit?
Last weekend we had our grandson’s baptism and since the weather is so crazy in New England in February I wanted something that would work if it was freezing or snowing…turned out to be a gorgeous day!
Also, didn’t want anything granny-ish since I’m so young and hip…LOL!!
I found a lightweight black turtleneck sweater, a fun flowing animal print skirt, and cute black booties on Amazon. Thank goodness they have so much to choose from because I went to my “go-to” clothing store, The Loft outlet and I walked in and it was all Spring&Summer stuff.
Lee & Co.
I took a day off to go shopping and to lunch with a girlfriend recently. She hadn’t been to Lee & Co. in Amesbury, MA. If you live in Massachusetts or Southern NH you have to take a trip down to this adorable shop! The owner Lee has such cool taste and the store is the perfect mixture of vintage and new pieces. It’s affordable too.
The store is right in Market Square, downtown Amesbury. There are plenty of other little shops and great spots to have lunch.
Lately on the Blog
Are you looking for a new vase or planter to spruce up your space?? I’ve got you! I rounded up over 30 budget-friendly options…all kinds of styles and colors too!
While I was organizing my workshop the idea came to me to put together a list of my must-have craft supplies for you. These are the things that I always have on hand for when that crafting bug hits!
Not only did I share my list but I’ll show you all the projects that you can do with them.
Handcrafted Society
This week was the kick-off for the Handcrafted Society. A group of creative blogging friends and I will be coming to you monthly with a new themed project. This month we all had to use paper hearts in our projects.
I made a vintage hanging heart sign for this first challenge using a wood heart and scrapbook paper.
Spring fever?? Check out these 10 Pretty Spring ideas. I joined a few of my friends and we all shared a favorite Spring idea.
While I was looking for flowers for an upcoming wreath project I came across so many beautiful artificial flowers on Amazon! So I didn’t want to keep all the finds to myself…I wanted to share it with you too!
What I’m Loving
Good thing Stacy at Bricks n Blooms is sharing all her tips in this week’s How to Grow Pilea Plants. She has so many good tips for growing pilea or really any plant that you are trying to grow, she’s got you covered!
What a good idea!! Rachel at The Ponds Farmhouse has a clever way of sprucing up any moss decoration that has faded and turned brown. Check out her cool tip!
You have to scroll through Kim over at Shiplap & Shells’ beautiful spring decorating ideas. If you are in a down mood these photos will cheer you up!
Yummy Recipe!
One of my favorite food blogs lately is Half Baked Harvest. Man, her recipes are yummy but I’m obsessed with the photography on her site too…it’s so darn good!!
I made this Baked Crunchy Hot Honey Chicken for dinner the other night and it was a hit! I used the lower amounts of the spicy stuff in the recipe and it still had a kick. The chicken was delish without the honey sauce too…my teenage son doesn’t like honey and just had it plain.
Spring Ebook
