Welcome to the Cottage on Bunker Hill Weekly Rewind. My online magazine where I share new happenings, fun finds, and things I came across during the week that I think you will like.

What’s Been Happening
It’s been another super busy week around here!!! The final countdown to Christmas is on and I’ve been working on as many projects as possible before the 25th…then I’m gonna take a big nap!! I did get to have a little fun this weekend too.

I went to a cookie exchange party Friday night…lots of holiday cheer, yummy eats, & laughs!

I found a yummy and festive appetizer to make for the party. I will definitely be making this Christmas tree spinach dip bread for my family Christmas party…it was easy to make too! Perfect when you don’t want to bring a dip as an appetizer.

There were about 20 people at the cookie party and so many delicious treats! My favorite…well, most people’s favorite and the winner of the “Best Holiday Treat” at the party was something that I have never heard of before but I am obsessed… Nanaimo Bars. They are a Canadian treat and wow, so good! The filling is a creamy buttercream custard, it was so creamy almost like ice cream! Here is a recipe that I found on Pinterest that looks the same.

There was a Yankee Swap too…I think some of you call it a White Elephant gift. I painted a gingerbread house rug like the one I made earlier in the week. It is definitely a nice handmade gift to give this year.

We helped our 22-year-old move into a house near Boston last weekend with 3 other guys, in the pouring rain!! He sent me this pic yesterday of his kitchen all setup. One thing I can tell you for sure is my apartment didn’t look like that when I was 22! So proud of him.
New This Week

I rounded up some of my most popular DIY ideas for Christmas for this month’s Thrifty Style Team monthly blog hop. All the gals are sharing some great and affordable Christmas ideas that are linked at the bottom of my post. What’s your favorite??

Make this for Christmas!!! This Double Chocolate Oreo Bark is quick to put together and is really good. My teenage son LOVED it and says I should make it every week.

Read the step by step on how you can paint a gingerbread house doormat. It’s a perfect hostess gift or if you want something unique for your own front porch.

I decorated my front porch this week too. This year I stuck to a pretty classic color combo…red & green! I dragged out quite a few of my vintage and flea market finds.
Some of My Favorites This Week
Bricks N Blooms

This is my favorite picture of the week! I just love Stacy’s winter planters and the gorgeous wreaths on the from doors. I made a mental note of how the pinecones are in a circle around the wreath…I’m going to try that on a winter wreath.
Stacy lives in an 1850 farmhouse and you have to see how festive her farmhouse front porch looks this Christmas season!
The Tattered Pew

Kelly from The Tattered Pew shared a delicious-looking family recipe this week. I have it on my “to-make” list and it has all the traditional New England spice cake/hermit flavors that we love so much up here on the coast!
The Ponds Farmhouse

I’m sure you will probably be getting ready to wrap some presents this week. Check out Rachel down at The Ponds Farmhouse’s easy tutorials to help you make beautiful bows for your packages.
shiplap & Shells

Check out Kim over at Shiplap & Shells beautiful Christmas tablescape for a little bit of inspiration for your own table this year. Kim has a fantastic collection of vintage goods she has curated for years.
Sally’s baking recipes

Sally’s Baking is my favorite website for sweet treats! She has put together 75+ of the most popular Christmas cookies for you...I want a bite of all of them!!! I have such a sweet tooth…
