Cottage on Bunker Hill Weekly | Vol.81

In: LIFESTYLE, Weekly Rewind

Welcome to the Cottage on Bunker Hill Weekly Rewind. This is my online magazine sharing a little behind-the-scenes, what you might have missed on the blog this week, what I found out shopping, and links you’ll love with fresh ideas from around the web.

What’s New

I’ve really been busy behind the scenes getting this place all dressed up for Spring. I’ve switched a few things around…reusing pieces from one room and moving them into another space.

I had been on the hunt for a different dining table for-evah!! The dining area is attached to the kitchen and the space is about 8×10…not much room to work with. I’m telling you that looking for a rectangular table between 48-50 inches long is haaaaard to find! Anything larger would impede the walking path from the hallway to the front door and living room.

But I did find one that looks perfect…perfect size, perfect style, & perfect color! It’s from Overstock, I watched the price for a couple of weeks and grabbed it when it was on sale and there was an extra 30% off on top of that.

Now if I had a hard time finding the right table,I drove myself nuts looking for an area rug!!

I’ve never had a rug in this space before, I think from my time having a home daycare…it would have been disastrous!

After looking at 8 zillion rugs I narrowed it down to this one from Wayfair. I wanted a 6×9 ft rug which is a harder size to find and I also wanted something super thin. This rug is printed and perfect for under a table, easy cleanup because it doesn’t have a pile.

Dining table & Rug

I kept the chairs from my other dining set and listed the table on Marketplace. I’m painting the china cabinet a bronze green right now too.

gallery wall

Right now I’m taking a break from putting together a new gallery wall in the living room. All but one of the prints arrived so everything but that 18×24 frame is filled…that print isn’t coming until later this week. I’ll be sharing this space on March 20th for my Spring Home Tour.

I gathered up all the frames that I had and started hanging them to see if they would work together. Might as well use what I already have, if I have to paint some of the frames I will but it’s cheaper than buying new frames.

Walmart Finds

Walmart has so many pretty planters for inside and outside in the garden center now. I was crushing on all the green ones. I loved the green Fischer planter bowl. I was glad to see they brought back the Propagation Station that they had last Spring, I love mine and have 3 silver pothos leaves rooting right now.

They also had a couple of plant riser styles that were so nice. I’ll link them below.
