Moody Home Decor for Spring

In: DECORATING, Shopping

If you’re looking to embrace a moody aesthetic for Spring, here are some affordable options to consider to update your space.

Moody Spring Affordable & Stylish Looks For Spring

You have probably noticed that you are seeing darker, richer colors when you are scrolling Pinterest lately. This year the moody aesthetic, some call it dark academia is trending. I think it goes hand in hand with the focus lately on mixing vintage and antiques into your homes.

It’s especially nice after all the years of white and gray decorating.

I, for one, couldn’t be happier! I love deep greens and browns and colors that are reflective of nature.

Confession time…this mood board started for my home! I’ve been looking for a different dining table and rug for my small dining area! I found so many beautiful rugs that I was saving in my various carts that I knew I had to share!

This post may include affiliate links; you can read my disclosure policy here.

I’m waiting on the delivery of the terracotta/sky area rug and the dining table.

The rug is sold by a few different retailers but Amazon and Wayfair had the best prices when I was watching it so I linked both of them in the chart above.

I can’t tell you how hard it was to find a rectangular dining table around 50 inches!! My dining area in our kitchen is about 7×10. Right now I have a 42″ round table but it’s too small…I need a bigger table to decorate, LOL!!

Last Fall I added the hazel green armchair to the living room. The color is fabulous but the chair is very firm and the back is on the lower side.

But for me, I like the firmer chair when I’m working on my laptop. The living room is on the smaller side and I liked the fact the lower back of the chair let your eye travel across the room because it didn’t block your sightline.

On my to-do list is to change out my ugly ceiling fan in the living room for the rattan bladeless one…talk about innovation! These new ceiling fans that really just look like lights are so much better looking than having the big blades spinning around.

Also, I want to switch out my velvet curtain panels for the faux linen ones...they are giving off Pottery Barn vibes for sure but are about a quarter of the cost!

Moody Aesthetic Area Rugs

Friends, I can not tell you how many rugs I scrolled through and tabs I had open on my computer trying to choose a new area rug to put down in my dining area!!

Here are 8 that I thought were so pretty! All of the rugs are on the thinner side…I was purposely looking for something thinner for under a dining table so keep that in mind.

  • Loloi Sky/Rust Area Rug
  • Terracotta/Sky Rug
  • Rugland Blue Tribal
  • Olive/Charcoal

  • Loloi Apricot Mist
  • Rust/Blue Rug
  • Ocean/Brick Rug
  • Clay/Sage

I’ll update this once my table & rug get here and I have the dining area put back together so you can see it.
