Hi Friends!! Welcome to my weekly rewind sharing what’s new here on the blog, cool things I’ve seen around the web that I think you will be interested in, and fun things that I have been doing in my life.
This Week
Moving right along through February!! Yahoo…I can’t wait until Spring…and getting out to dig in my garden!! Gardening is all I can think about lately! I’ve been buying the seeds I’m going to need this year.
I was so excited when my order of flower seeds from Johnny’s was waiting for me in my mailbox this weekend!! I like that I’m supporting a New England small biz too.
Sidenote…I ordered too many seeds ( I have another order coming from Selected Seeds)
Here are a few of the new flowers that I’m trying this year:
Do you have a Trader Joe’s in your area?? They are my go-to spot for fresh flowers & greenery. Trader Joe’s always has the best prices on flowers too. Look at these beautiful purple lisianthus…aren’t they gorgeous!! You can also find bunches of fresh eucalyptus and other greenery for about $3.99. Plus, great selection of houseplants!

Spring at Michael’s
Michael’s has new Spring merchandise out in the stores. Lots of fresh, pretty things! I think this bunny tail grass & floral wreath will be a big seller this season. It’s on sale this week for $35.99 (from 59.99)
Michael’s also has an entire aisle of new planters and containers. For all my new houseplants I got to beat the winter blues in January I needed a couple of new pots.
I grabbed one of the big dark blue textured pots and two of the scalloped-edged white ones (sorry can’t find them on their site).
Have you ever made homemade potato skins before?? I have to be honest…I usually buy the frozen ones from B.J.s, but since their freezer cases were bare I decided to make our own for the Super Bowl. I used this Potato Skin Recipe from Small Town Woman.
On The Blog This Week
Like I mentioned earlier…I have gardening on my mind!!! If you are thinking about starting a cutting garden this Spring you need to check out the article I just wrote on Starting a Cutting Garden.
Last year I expanded my garden to make room for lots of flowers!! I shared the entire process and what I learned after my first year. There are lots of pretty flower pictures if you just need a boost too!!
I also shared my tutorial on how to make Textured Heart Wall Art. These cool hearts would look great mixed in a gallery wall or hanging in a girl’s bedroom.
This project was part of my monthly Thrifty Style Team blog hop. There are so many cute projects this month!!

Around The Web…
I’m just like you and love scrolling Pinterest and Google looking for new ideas. Have you scrolled through the new Google Discover page on your phone lately? I’m really liking the web stories and the section that’s called channels (it shows up about halfway down the page). You can follow different topics (the sliders to the right of the explore channels) and when you click on one of the channels it opens another page full of articles and videos.
This is what I am talking about…
Ok…you won’t believe what this cabinet looks like when it’s open!!! No seriously, check out what Jen from Tatertots & Jello has going on inside of it…very cool!
By February I love to have fresh flowers in the house all the time. Seriously, a bunch of grocery store tulips on a freezing cold day is an instant mood lifter!! I’ve wanted to make this DIY Twig Vase since I first saw it on Rachel’s blog. If it wasn’t 5° out I might venture out to collect some twigs…
OK, look at this adorable DIY from KariAnne over at Thistlewood Farms. You can do to get ready for Spring!! It’s really easy too! Check out how to make your own DIY Jute Twine Nests
This Spring Tablescape from Jen at Midwest Life & Style is so pretty!! I have to share it…I think you will love it too. I love the smell of flowering hyacyinth too…
And to finish up this weekly rewind is this story from my sweet friend Aliya over at Open Doors Open Hearts. Her piece this week is titled “Just Be You | An Open Heart Message” and I loved it! I also love her pot rack and beautiful copper pots…
Wishing you a wonderful week!! I’m busy down in my studio working on some pretty ideas for Spring that I will be sharing with you all soon!! ~Jennifer
Jennifer,
I appreciate you for sharing my twig vase idea. So many great shares. Have the best week.
I have to make one…as soon as it’s warm enough for me to trek into the woods and find twigs.
