Cottage On Bunker Hill Weekly
Welcome friends to my weekly rewind of what’s been happening on the blog, things I’ve come across on the web, good sales, and yummy recipes I’ve made.
New At Walmart
OK, It’s January and we are all trying to get our acts together and get organized…right?? Yesterday at my Walmart I was checking out all the new organizing stuff they have in-store and also online.
There’s a new line of organizers from The Home Edit (did you watch that show on Netflix?)
This post may include affiliate links; you can read my disclosure policy here.
So if you need to get your act together there are a variety of different sized organizers, a few different prepackaged sets, and lazy susans. I thought that some of the packaged sets were a little pricy but it’s nice to have a complete matching set to organize and get a streamlined look in your cabinets.
I love having the small lazy susans in my cabinet to organize my smaller bottles like hot sauces and unopened dressings.
- HOME EDIT 5 PIECE ORGANIZER $24.98
- 10″ TURNTABLE $9.98
- 10 PIECE BATHROOM ORGANIZER $24.98
- 5 PIECE LAUNDRY STORAGE $24.98

There is also a new line of Better Homes & Gardens natural bamboo kitchen organizers and canisters. Don’t you love the look of bamboo organizers in your drawers?
The line of Better Homes & Gardens organizers runs from $10 to $20. I so need the 5 piece drawer organizer for my junk drawer…you know it’s time to clean that mess out when it gets stuck when you try and open it!!
The stoneware lidded canisters really look more expensive than what they sell for at Walmart…they are a nice weight and could have come from one of the high-end kitchen retailers.
Only the medium size is available online right now so check your local store! BHG has an entirely new dinnerware line with the same pattern. (I totally have a thing for the exposed clay at the bottom of things right now!!) In-store you can buy the pieces individually but they also sell a set of the clay dinnerware
- 5 PIECE DRAWER ORGANIZER SET $19.97
- CUTLERY ORGANIZER $13.98
- SPICE RACK $12.74
- BAMBOO DISH RACK $15.98
- STONEWARE CANISTER $12.88
- 3 PIECE GLASS CANISTER SET $16.48

I’ve been keeping myself busy around here! I had a good trip to the local Savers thrift store and scored a bunch of really great stuff!! Check out your local thrift stores in January…they are usually well stocked with all the stuff people are purging for the new year.

I polished up one of my thrift store finds and made the easiest and sweetest little flower arrangement! Check it out for yourself!
Make Your Own Topiaries
Seriously, don’t spend 30 bucks at HomeGoods on a topiary…you can make for so much less than that!! And it’s not a difficult project…like even if you aren’t super crafty you can do this!! I made 2 topiaries to show you…one with greenery and one with lavender picks. So go see How To Make Topiary Trees for all the details!
A bunch of my blogging galpals were also sharing Winter DIY projects with me! There’s a little bit of everything…you will love all the different projects!!
What’s Hot
My Cottage On Bunker Hill readers are definitely freshening up their spaces this week!! Lots of you are shopping for rugs!! Here’s what the top-selling items from my shopping links were…
Best sellers
Both of these rugs are on sale today (1/23/22) The rug on the left Gold Florid Dreams from Rugs USA is $230 for the 8×10. The rug on the right is the 7×10 Victoria rug from Rugs.com and is $169! They both have great reviews (I always scroll through the reviews before I suggest any items to you all)
here are a few things I just loved this week!
Are you looking for a super quick and easy dinner recipe?? My son asked me Friday around 4 “Mom, are you making dinner tonight because I’m starving”…the internal movie narrator in my head was saying “Jennifer had in fact NOT planned on making anything for dinner…” Well, I felt bad because the kid had been sick so I whipped up this Chicken Ramen dish in a quick minute!
This Chicken Ramen recipe from Chelsea’s Messy Apron is one of my favorite quick weeknight meals. She is one of my absolute favorite food bloggers and so many of my family’s favorite recipes come from her. (I LOVE her Mexican Street Corn Tacos!!…the sauce is to die for!)
Speaking of food…My blogging friend Stacy changed the name of her food blog this week to Garlic Salt & Lime...isn’t that a great name! I love it! She has so many amazing recipes…lots of keto/low carb too if you follow those diets and are looking for good recipes.
I have everything to make her Creamy Chicken Gnocchi soup today too! I love gnocchi…they remind me of my grandfather.
Doesn’t it look so yummy!!!
Are you looking for a new home decor book?? Check out “The Gift of Home” by Bre Doucette. She is a fellow New Hampshire blogger…I’ve followed her for years…way before I ever even thought about starting my own website.
Her book is filled with solid decorating information and just lovely photos. I’m really enjoying reading through it.
There is an entire genre of Korean cooking and daily life vlogs on YouTube and I am totally here for it! I watch these aesthetically pretty videos to quiet my mind down. Seriously, if you are having a stressful day grab a cup of tea, put up your feet and watch a Hamimommy video..
Target is having a big markdown on a ton of home decor right now! There are really nice mirrors and wall decor marked 50% off…lot of other things too! Checkout Target Home Deals
Upcoming On The Blog
I’m working on a few fun projects! I need to make a new wreath for my front door…nothing too Springy nothing to Wintery…let’s see what I come up with!! All my garland got blown off during a giant storm last week and is in a big frozen pile next to my door(it’s been too cold to go deal with that mess here this week!)
There’s a new Spring line from the Studio McGee line at Target that is sooooo good! I’ll put together the best of the line for you!
Starting to think about your garden yet?? I am and I’m going to share with you what I learned from my first year growing a cutting garden and starting seeds indoors.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
Thanks for much for the shout-out, friend! I hope you enjoy the soup – it’s SO good, one of our favorites.
Yes, soooo good!! Perfect for snowy New England days!
So many pretty and yummy things all in one post!
Thanks my friend!!!
I love the sweet flower arrangement and DIY topiary you made this week! Thanks for including me this week – it was fun doing posts with you this week! xo
