Come join me and see how I’m decorating my New Hampshire home for Fall this year. I’m using lots of natural elements and garden touches to create a peaceful space.
Bloggers’ Best Fall Home Tours
This week is the Bloggers’ Best Fall Home Tours hosted by the lovely Kelly from The Tattered Pew. Over the next few days, you will be able to tour 30 bloggers’ homes all dressed up for Fall!
If you are touring here after visiting Stacy over at Bricks N Blooms welcome!! I’ve been having fun watching how Stacy has been making over their new home since they moved in last winter. For newcomers, hey, I’m Jennifer, and am a born and bred New Englander living near the NH seacoast. You can read a little more about me here.

It’s officially Fall and you can feel the season starting to change. The maples are getting patches of red leaves and the nights are getting chilly. As much as I love Summers in New England there is something magical about being here in the Fall.
One of my favorite things to do is make my home cozy and comfortable since we spend more time indoors.
Decorating for Fall
console cabinet
This cabinet is one of my favorite pieces of furniture in my home. It is the prettiest platinum color and blends with both natural colors and other metallics. Plus it has plenty of storage inside. It’s where I keep all of my placemats and napkins because my dining area is so small.
For this season, I added touches of Fall throughout the house for a more subtle approach.
As I take you on a tour of my living room today you will also notice that I have lots of plants throughout the room. Plants just make a room feel complete. They also bring the outside in which just puts me in a good frame of mind (especially as the days get shorter and colder here!)
The two pheasant statues I found at Hobby Lobby and gave them a quick makeover to look aged.
The dried flowers in this Pottery Barn Inspired Vase were from my cutting garden. I started them from seed (Scabiosa ‘Drumsticks‘)and I was so excited that they took! It was my first time growing them, for you gardeners out there…when the flower opens it looks like a normal scabiosa flower but then they turn into these interesting ball-shaped pods.
The botanical prints were from the Hearth & Hand with Magnolia Fall line but are sold out. They originally had bright gold frames but I used a little bit of Rub & Buff to tone it down.
We’ll see how this Boston fern does indoors! It was living its best life on my front porch but was evicted to make room for pumpkins! Every day I’m misting it to try and keep the humidity up. Check back in a couple of months once the heat is turned on…
entryway
This is New England living! The entryway and front door is right in the middle between the living room and kitchen.
Most everything pictured was either thrifted or found at local vintage markets. You can see everything about how I decorated with thrift store finds to get all the details
Along with lots of plants, I also added various dried flowers and plants throughout my home for Fall.
Dried hydrangeas from my garden have to be my absolute favorite natural decorating touch. These are from last year’s garden, the secret to keeping the color is to keep your dried flowers away from sunlight.
Living Room
In my living room, I recently changed a few things and gave the space a bit of a refresh. The inspiration for the room was this green rug (Home Depot) that I fell in love with!
Although I loved the blue&rust rug that was here before I wanted to move it to my bedroom so I can bring more warm rust tones into that space.
media cabinet
Tucked in the corner are my media cabinet and television. To decorate it I used more natural-looking decor like my Dried Wheat Bundle, plants, and a beautiful basket from Bali.
bookcase
In the back corner of the living room, I added a tall bookcase a few months ago. It’s the perfect way to add height to the room and bring your eye up, it gives the illusion that the space is bigger than it is.
I love having more places to decorate! On the bookcase, I added my set of Pottery Barn Dupe Terracotta Pumpkins
sectional
My gray sectional is the perfect neutral color. It works with different accent colors and I have changed my accessories from coastal blues to more natural tones over the past couple of years and it makes the perfect backdrop.
This Fall I’m using a combination of warm colors: green, cream, and brown throughout the room.
The prints & frames behind the sectional are from The Poster Store. I worked with them in the past and I love their selection.
There is just enough space behind the sectional to add a narrow console table…I need every last inch of decorating space!!!!
Coffee Table
OK, I’m officially in love!! This table is gorgeous!! One of our sons recently moved out and needed a coffee table and I’m giving him the table that was here.
In this thrift store makeover vase, I added a bunch of cress that I grew in my garden this year. It was the only 2 stems out of the entire pack of seeds that grew!!
Along with my vase of dried cress, I put a basket with the faux clay beaded garland that I DIYd a few weeks back.
New Green Chair
You have no idea how long I have been searching for the perfect green chair for my living room!! I had just about given up hope when I came across this on Home Depot!!
It’s the perfect scale for my small living room and the lower back gives the illusion of more space because your eye travels over it and can see the rest of the room.
It works so well with the rug too!! The colors in this picture are true to what it actually looks like. One note, this rug is very thin but it is also soft and cushy…at first, I wasn’t sure but then I kept walking on it and it feels really nice. Even my teenage son who notices nothing was bouncing on it and said it felt good!
Shop My Home
floor lamp
For some extra lighting in the living room and to add an interesting touch I put a floor lamp behind the sectional. Bonus, it looks just like a much more expensive version that I first saw on Pottery Barn…but it goes for $199!!
Thank you so much for taking a tour of my home! Check back later this week for part 2 where we will tour my kitchen and dining space.
Next up on the tour, you will be traveling to the Pacific Northwest to see Renae over at Peacock Ridge Farm and see how she is adding Fall touches to her beautiful farm!
