Easy Fall Decorating Tips
Yes, it’s 86° here…and yes I am thinking about Fall!! That’s part of the blogging gig…you have to stay ahead of the next decorating season!! So just like Santa’s elves work behind the scenes to get Xmas ready in time, I work behind the scenes to bring you all the Fall inspiration that I can so you will be ready to decorate when the time comes. Here are a few of my best Fall decorating ideas!
1. Add A Wreath
The simplest way to dress up your space in no time at all is to add a beautiful Fall wreath. Wreaths can be used inside or out. Find a Fall wreath you love and hang it up…bam, instant Fall!!
If you love to DIY you can make a wreath in just a few minutes. Plus, there’s an extraordinary variety of artificial flowers and greenery available nowadays…and some look so real!!

2. Easy Fall DIY
Personalize your space with something you made yourself!! One of my favorite Fall decorating ideas is to make a DIY project. It doesn’t have to be hard or take forever to DIY a cute addition to your Fall decorating!!
This little Dollar Tree DIY is one of my all-time most popular posts!!! I think it’s because it’s so easy…and budget-friendly!!
Fall Garland
Here’s another quick easy Dollar Tree DIY…make a Fall garland to hang on an old window frame or over a mirror for Fall.
3. Add Fall Colors
Nothing warms up space quicker than adding pops of brilliant Fall colors! I still have a crush on these mini oranges and orange pom pom stems I grabbed last year at Michael’s.
A quick Fall fix… fill a bowl or basket with small pumpkins or gourds.
I filled a vintage wire basket with a few faux gourds and acorns to add Fall colors and texture to my kitchen hutch
And if you’re a neutral lover there are plenty of ways to signal Autumn in your home!
Check out this adorable buffalo check pumpkin door hanger I recently made! It only took a few minutes to put together too.
Soft, fuzzy DIY yarn pumpkins nestled in greens and baby’s breath were the perfect addition to my neutral-toned living room.
4. Use Dried Hydrangeas
As Summer winds down, the hydrangeas start putting on a show as they begin to wind down for another season. This is the time to gather your hydrangeas and dry them to use in your home decor.
The best way to dry your hydrangeas is to put the cut stems in a vase with an inch or two of water and just leave them….as the water evaporates the hydrangeas will naturally dry out and preserve their shape.
Every year my hydrangeas end up a slightly different shade…but always beautiful!
Mixing hydrangeas, white pumpkins, and other natural elements together is one of my all-time favorite combinations for Fall decorating.
5. Decorate Your Front Porch
My favorite decorating idea for Fall is to go all out on your front porch!! I think that I like decorating for Fall the best of all.
It doesn’t have to be over the top…just a pumpkin and a pot of Fall flowers look beautiful and festive too!
This was one of my all-time favorite Fall front porches! I used quite a few vintage pieces in the design.
The simple old chair with a vintage galvanized tub filled with foliage and pumpkins has been one of my top 3 images saved over on Pinterest…I guess people loved the simplicity of the design. You can see more here.
This was my Fall front porch last year…who knows what I’ll come up with this year!!! Stay tuned friends!!!
