What are the Fall home decor trends? Here is your guide to what’s in for Fall 2024! From trending colors and decor styles, to what materials are popular this Fall.
Fall is just around the corner, I know, I know…we wish Summer could last forever!! But the shift from Summer to Fall gives you an excuse to update a few things around the house.
Soon the leaves will begin to change colors and the nights will start getting cooler. We will be wanting to add more cozy touches and create a warm atmosphere in our homes.
Today I want to share some of the top home decor trends for Fall before you start decorating to give you a few easy and affordable ideas on what to use this season.
One of the biggest trends for fall home decor this year is the use of warm and earthy tones. Think rust, honey, and olive green. These colors are perfect for creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere in your home.
You can incorporate these colors into your decor by adding throw pillows, blankets, or vases of stems. Additionally, natural materials such as wood and stone are also popular this season. Consider adding a wooden coffee table or marble accent pieces to bring a touch of nature indoors.

Adding Fall Decor
Since my business is everything home, I always look forward to the Fall season. Fall decor is all about creating a cozy and warm atmosphere and that is my favorite decorating style!
In this section, I will share some ideas and tips on how to incorporate fall decor into your home.
One of the easiest ways to add some fall vibes to your home is by introducing warm colors such as greens, browns, and gold. You can do this by adding throw pillows, blankets, curtains, or Fall florals.
For Fall, I changed my patterned throw pillow covers from these linen ones to the new Madan velvet throw pillow covers from Pottery Barn. I loved the rich earthy tones and the subtle pops of bluish-green.
Another way to bring in some warmth is by incorporating natural elements such as wood, stone, and metal. You can do this by adding rustic elements such as wooden bowls, metal vases or candlesticks, and marble decor accents.

Fall is also the perfect time for some cozy layers in your living room space. Try adding a chunky knit throw or a faux fur one. Add extra pillows in rich colors…you might never want to get off the couch!!
Cozy Throws & Pillows for Fall:
Don’t forget to add some candles to create a warm and inviting atmosphere: pumpkin spice, cinnamon, or apple cider to really bring in the fall feels.

Finally, don’t forget to add some fall decor to your outdoor space. You can do this by adding some pumpkins, lanterns, corn stalks, or a Fall wreath to your front door.

Color Trends For Fall 2024
Earthy Tones
One of the most popular trends this Fall in home decorating is incorporating more earthy tones into your spaces. These colors are perfect for creating a cozy and warm atmosphere in your home. Earthy tones include shades of brown, beige, and greens (in both deep or muted tones). You can use these colors on your walls, furniture, and accessories to create a natural and organic feel.
Earthy colors are what I am naturally drawn to so you don’t have to twist my arm to layer in more greens and browns into my home this Fall season!!
I also love to use natural touches when I am decorating but change them from season to season. In the Fall, dried botanicals and flowers from my garden are beautiful and free accents that I scatter throughout the house.

Warm Rich Colors
Another popular trend this fall is the use of warm, rich colors. These colors include shades of deep red, terracotta orange, and honey gold. Warm colors are perfect for creating that welcoming and inviting feel when you walk into your home.
Small decor accents like a throw pillow or blanket, a vase of preserved stems, or framed artwork are affordable ways to add these warm Fall touches to a room.
Whether you choose to use earthy tones or warm colors…or a combo of both… be sure to have fun with your decor and make it your own.

Material Trends
Natural Materials
I’m excited to see natural materials continue to be a trend this fall. From wood to stone, these materials are perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in your home. Here are a few natural materials that I love to use when I decorate my home.
- Wood: This is a great option for adding character to your home. Bring in more wood accents that have that unique aged look. For a bigger investment, you could add furniture pieces like a coffee table or bookshelf. A more affordable idea would be a wooden dough bowl or tray in a distressed wood finish to a shelf or tabletop and fill it with seasonal decor.
- Stone: Whether it’s marble or granite, stone is a timeless material that adds elegance to any space. Marble bowls, architectural pieces, and trays are very popular for the Fall season.
- Wicker: This material is perfect for adding texture to a room. Consider using wicker baskets for storage or a wicker vase filled with Autumn stems.
Metal Accents
Metal accents are another trend that I’m excited about this fall. They’re a great way to add a touch of glamour to your home. Here are a few metal accents to consider:
- Brass: Brass is a classic metal that’s perfect for adding warmth to a space. Brushed brass pieces look very modern too like this vase.
- Copper: Copper is a trendy metal that’s perfect for adding a pop of color to a room. Consider using a copper vase for flowers or a planter for a houseplant.
- Black Metal: Black metal is a great option for creating a modern and industrial look. An easy way to do this is with a set of black iron candlestick holders (they can also be used year-round in your decor)
Sustainable Decor Trends
Another fun decor trend that is still going hot this Fall is sustainable decor, in other words buying vintage and secondhand pieces to keep them out of landfills.
I LOVE thrifting for home decor! Not only is it like a treasure hunt, but I find the best stuff to use to decorate. It also helps you create a more curated look since you are adding interesting finds to your home.
This Fall entryway table is decorated with mostly thrifted finds.
So next time you want to buy a new vase or fill an empty spot on your wall check out your local thrift store. Over the past couple of years, I have upcycled so many thrift store vases to recreate looks I’ve seen in Pottery Barn and other expensive catalogs.
Your local antique store can also be a great resource for finding that one special piece to finish off a look in your home. Look for vintage baskets or metal pails that you can use to display dried flowers or fill with pinecones for an Autumn display on a table.
