- Unique Bridal Shower Favor: What a pretty & unique idea for a shower favor, plus you can make a large quantity fairly inexpensively.
Step-by-Step Tutorial
Gather your supplies, put something down to protect your work surface to keep it clean, and let’s get started! This is a straightforward project that is perfect if you are a beginner-level crafter. This would also be a fun project to make with children.
1. Prepare Your Materials
Gather your pressed flowers, wood slices, and other supplies. Cover your work surface to protect it.
2. Arrange and Glue the Flowers
- Use tweezers to place the pressed flowers and foliage on the wood slice.
- Experiment with different layouts until you find one you love.
- Once you’re happy with the design, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the wood slice and adhere the flowers.
- Let it dry
3. Seal the Ornament
- Once the base layer of Mod Podge had dried and the flowers are adhered to the wood slice it is time to seal the ornaments.
- Brush on a coat of Mod Podge over the entire surface of the wood slice.
- Let dry completely.
The Mod Podge will dry completely clear.
4. Add the Leather Cord Hanger
- Cut a piece of leather cord to your desired length.
- There are 2 ways to add the hanging cord:
- Double up the cord, run it through from the back, and slip the ends through the loop to secure it.
- Or, simply run the cord through the hole and tie a knot and then make the hanging loop and knot at the end.

Tips for Success
- Use Flat Flowers: Flowers with thin petals, like pansies or cosmos, or hydrangeas, work best. Individual petals and ferns are great choices too.
- Work on One Ornament At A Time: Apply Mod Podge to one ornament at a time to prevent it from drying too quickly.
- Let It Dry Completely: Allow each layer of Mod Podge to dry fully before moving on to the next step.
- Experiment with Designs: Try different flower combinations and layouts to create unique ornaments.

Creative Variations

- Themed Ornaments: Create ornaments inspired by specific occasions (e.g., weddings, baby showers, or holidays).
- Personalized Ornaments: Add initials, names, or special messages using small letter stamps or calligraphy.
