Step-by-Step Tutorial
Step 1: Choose Your Frames

Today I am going to focus mainly on mini frames but you can take this tutorial and use the same methods for larger framed art.
Vintage Vibe Framed Art

- I used three small white frames with a vintage look for this project.
- To create the artwork, I traced the 3×3 inch sheet of paper that came with the frames onto a vintage book page and carefully cut it out.
- Then, I used Mod Podge to adhere the pressed flowers to the center of the book page.

- For the 3 frames, I used a single stem of hydrangea, baby’s breath, and purple statice.

- Once the pressed flowers were in place they need to dry completely before placing them in the mini photo frames.
- If you’re using larger frames, follow the same steps, but you’ll have more space to add additional flowers and create a fuller design
Rustic Flower Frames

- For this set of matted frames, I traced 3 x 3-inch squares of off-white watercolor paper to use as the backing for the flowers.

- In the center of the paper, brush on Mod Podge.

- Also, brush Mod Podge on the back of the flower and then press it in place. The zinnias were preserved from my flower garden last season (I used the microwave pressing method)
- Let dry completely before framing the flowers.

Mini Gold Modern Frames

- For this mini frame I first cut out a piece of watercolor notepaper for the backing.

- Then I brushed Mod Podge onto the paper and adhered a small fern leaf and 2 flowers to create a minimalist look.
- The Mod Podge needs to completely dry before framing the flower art.

Float Frames & Ornaments with Flowers
Here is another pretty way to display pressed flowers in your home or give them as a gift. The small float ornament frames would be lovely bridal shower favors.
float frame

- There are two ways to create a pressed flower floating frame. The first option is to use a small piece of cardstock (smaller than the frame) behind the flowers to create an opaque background. The second option is to fill the frame entirely with flowers and leaves, creating a beautiful see-through effect. Today, I’ll show you how to make the second version!

- For this frame, I chose to use only fern leaves.
- Arrange the leaves in an interesting way on the glass.
- Carefully slide the frame together, making sure not to disturb the leaves. The frame I’m using has rubber gaskets along the edges to keep both pieces of glass snug, which helps hold the leaves securely in place
- If you decide to use Mod Podge to keep the leaves in place, only apply a small dot. Keep in mind that it will be visible once it dries on the glass.
