Making the Daffodil Bulb Vase: Step-By-Step
The Foundation: Creating the Perfect Base for Your Daffodils
This is a short-lived project. The daffodils will flower and fade over the next couple of weeks. But the good news is that once the blooms have gone by you can plant the bulbs in your garden for next year!
With that being said, it’s helpful to the health of the bulbs to add a layer of pebbles or small stones to the bottom of the glass cylinder vase for drainage.
Add Daffodil Bulbs & Soil
Once the pebbles are in place it’s time to add the daffodil bulbs plus enough soil to keep them in place.
Gently tip out the bulbs with the soil and place them into the glass vase, spacing them evenly. Fill with the soil from the nursery pot and pat down with your fingers to steady the bulbs.
It’s OK if the bulbs aren’t completely covered with soil.
A Touch of Nature: Adding Lush Green Moss
Once the bulbs are in place I added fresh moss to cover the soil. The bagged preserved moss from the craft store is perfect for this project too.
Rustic Elegance: Embellish with a Grapevine Garland
To add a rustic touch to this daffodil vase I added a small amount of grapevine from a garland that I found at the thrift store. Small twigs or regular grapevine garland pieces will give you the same effect.
The wood tone is a nice contrast next to the fresh green leaves of the daffodils.
After the garland was in place I popped in 3 pussy willow branches.
Personalized Touch: Create a Handstamped Tag
What small things can you do to take a run-of-the-mill DIY project and give them that extra tweak to make them look Pinterest-worthy??? Well, let me show you one for this project that will only take an extra minute or two.
On a small brown paper tag I used small letter stamps to write SPRING. Then I wrapped thin jute twine around the middle of the glass vase and tied on the hand-stamped tag.
After securing the tag, I finished off the look by tucking in a guinea hen feather. I’m telling you to buy a bag of these cute feathers on Amazon and start adding them to wreaths and your decor for that curated look.

The Result: Your Daffodil Arrangement is Complete
This happy little daffodil vase is the perfect early Spring touch to add to a mantle or table. When the soil dries out be sure to add a small amount of water to the vase being careful not to overwater.
