It’s Spring and I’m ready to decorate! I will show you a few decorating ideas for your front porch using vintage finds.
Spring has sprung and it’s time to shake off the winter blues and bring some fresh air into your home. One of the easiest ways to do this is to update your porch decor. A well-decorated porch is a welcoming sight for both you and your guests, and it sets the tone for your entire home.
But who says you have to spend a fortune to create a stylish and inviting porch? With a little creativity and some vintage finds, you can easily transform your porch into a charming spot.
Vintage Porch Decor Secrets: Thrifty & Chic Spring Styling
After having a bare porch since I took down all the Christmas hoopla, it was so nice to be able to spruce it up again! Ok, ok…maybe I did have an antique sled over in the corner because it’s been too darn cold to put it back in my garage attic!!
This year I shopped my stash of vintage, thrifted, and flea market finds when I decorated my porch. One of my favorite things is hunting for hidden gems at thrift stores…seriously, all you have to do is use a little imagination and you never know what you will find!

How I Used a Vintage Chair on My Spring Porch
I found two of these little chairs at my Savers thrift store for $2 each!! You should have seen my husband’s face when he saw me carrying them through the store!! His response is always “Where are you going to put that?” whenever I find something awesome…he doesn’t get the creative process…LOL!!
I’ve used them so many times over the past couple of years to hold flowers either on my porch or in front of my garden…totally worth the $4 investment!!
Last week I found the most stunning red Anemones at B.J.’s of all places!
Look how pretty they look in this antique pail I snagged at a flea market! The bow is made from a mossed vine garland from craftoutlet.com …they are my secret go-to site for affordable craft supplies, but you have to order quickly because they sell out fast. That’s where I found the moss balls for my DIY Topiaries.
The only new things I bought for this vintage Spring porch were the flowers.
Vintage Soda Crate Decorated For Spring
Next to my chair, I made the sweetest Spring vignette! First, I grabbed an old soda crate that I got for free…don’t you love free finds…if it’s free it’s for me!!!!
Flipped it upside down to use it as a table to hold my #1 favorite flea market find…this antique watering can. Can you believe I scored this for $2!!!
Oh, I think I had annoyed the guy so much that day at the Todd Farm Flea Market (Rowley, MA) that he just wanted me to leave him alone and just said “yeah, two bucks, take it!”
The watering can holds a bunch of fresh pussy willows; simple and pretty.
A couple of rusted galvanized pots that I shopped off the top of my kitchen hutch (you can see my Spring Home Tour here) make the perfect spot for a faux bird’s nest (tutorial is here). I’m curious how long it will be before I have birds coming to steal some of the moss for their real Spring nests
A pot of mini daffodils is blooming in my white ceramic rabbit.
Hanging on the Porch Wall
Oh, I have used this old white window frame a zillion times over the past few years!! It was given to me for free too. It’s the perfect place to hang a wreath.
For Spring, instead of my usual sign on the house I hung my window and this simple moss grapevine wreath (this was also a craftoutlet.com find!).
Did you know they make vinyl siding hooks?? I didn’t until a few years ago. They come in two different sizes on Amazon; large (what I’m using for this window frame) and smaller ones that are great for small signs.
Vintage Spring Porch
Here’s the entire porch. What do you think??
It’s great to be able to use what you already have when you decorate! Shopping your own home is definitely underrated.
One More Thing…
For my front door, I added a few faux Spring flowers and greens to a rattan door basket. It’s not vintage but certainly looks it!!
With a little creativity and some vintage finds, you can easily create a beautiful and inviting spring porch that you’ll love all season long. So get out there and start shopping! You never know what hidden gems you might find. And don’t be afraid to think outside the box. Repurposed items and flea market finds can add a unique touch to your porch decor.
With a little effort, you can create a porch that reflects your personal style and makes a lasting impression on your guests.
