The Cottage on Bunker Hill Weekly Rewind is my online magazine where I share a little behind the scenes, great shopping finds, and ideas from around the web that I think you will like.
Weekly Rewind
Fall is on fast forward here in New Hampshire and I’m sad to say most of the trees have dropped their leaves here on Bunker Hill!! It is always so sad for me when this happens…the vibrant colors of Fall are so inspiring.
Friday night we had our first frost too…it wasn’t supposed to get that cold or I would have gone out to cut one last bouquet of fresh flowers!!
I guess I’ll be cutting the zinnia flower heads so I can dry them out and save the seeds for next year’s garden and digging up my dahlia tubers to overwinter this week instead.
As crazy as it sounds to some of you…I’ve been a busy elf behind the scenes planning all the Christmas content I’m going to bring to you over the next 2 months!!
So hold on to your Santa hats because tomorrow November 1st I will be starting a fun 10 Days of Christmas with some of my gal pals!! For 10 days I am going to have the best holiday ideas to share to get you in the spirit!!
Jingle all the way my friends!!!

Here’s a sneak peek of the Bunker Hill ’22 Christmas colors!! I hit Hobby Lobby on Saturday morning to grab some supplies while the Christmas stuff was 50% off.
If you are looking to get that vintage velvet frayed ribbon look for your wreaths or tree this year the rolls of the Hobby Lobby velvet ribbon is $3.99 which is the best price that I have found…and I have been scouring the web all week!
I sold 2 of my Christmas trees…plus 5 garlands, 2 wreaths, and 6 sets of Christmas lights on Facebook Marketplace this weekend!!
One thing about this job is that we accumulate so much stuff and I try and bring you all fresh ideas every season so I need to clean out every now and again.
The good news is that my sales more than covered the cost of my new tree and Christmas supplies!!
Here’s the tree I bought for this year. I am going for a natural Scandinavian feel this year…I think it’s going to be pretty (but it’s all in my mind right now!!)
I bought my prelit tree from Home Depot. Amazon did have the prelit version but right now they only have the one without lights in stock.
The price has also been fluctuating quite a bit over the past few weeks because I’ve had it in my carts to keep an eye on it. I’ve seen the same tree on a few other sites for $100+ more so watch your prices, friends…we want to save as much money as we can!!
New This Week
This week I shared some of my favorite pictures from Fall around New England. If you love to see Fall foliage then you will enjoy this one!
My last garden tour of 2022!! Come see the last hoorah of my cottage cutting garden…I’m sad that it is over!!
Here comes my holiday projects!! The first one for 2022 is sharing a few pretty gift wrapping ideas using a few things I gathered from the outdoors.
I searched the internet so you don’t have to! This week I found some of the prettiest garlands for your winter decorating. I love a good garland! Check out my shopping guide.
Check It Out!
I adore this Grandin Road dupe wreath that my friend Kim of Cottage in the Mitten made this week!! It’s really easy to do too…you all know how much I love DIY wreaths!!!
Another DIY wreath that I LOVED this week is this simple yet beautiful Star Anise Hoop Wreath from Heidi at Eleanor Rose Home.
You have to go check out this Before & After Sunroom Makeover right now!! Stacy at Bricks N Blooms did such a fantastic job and her plants will be so happy this winter!!
OK, Rachel has me dreaming of having a greenhouse!! I think I would spend all my days out there…what a cozy spot to work in too. Take a look for yourself!
Here is another adorable greenhouse for you to check out since it’s Halloween!!
If you are looking for something to watch I just finished From Scratch on Netflix. It’s an 8 part limited series and I really liked it. I never read the book and now I wish that I had!!
And for my fellow Hallmark Christmas movie junkies…do you have the Great American Family channel??? Well, they have 24 hour Christmas movies too!! Some of my old Hallmark favorites (I just watched Mrs. Miracle with Doris Roberts the other night) and lots of the Hallmark stars have gone to this channel to make new movies too. Check out the movie lineup here!! Ho Ho Ho…
You got some great ribbon!!! I can’t wait for all of the Christmas inspo this week! Even after the frost your garden still looks pretty! That amaranth is something! Thanks for sharing my post! ❤️❤️❤️
I love what you found at Hobby Lobby Jennifer! I have the same velvet frayed ribbon and absolutely love it!!! I can’t wait to see your holiday décor this year. Thank you for featuring my star anise wreath, I plan on using star anise in a few different areas of our home this Christmas.
I’m going to add some to my dried oranges this year… if I can find a bag of oranges that actually looks orange!!!!
