The Weekly Rewind is my online magazine where I share what has been going on behind the scenes, places I’ve visited that I think you would love, shopping finds, and inspiring pictures and projects from around the web.
What’s been happening
It’s been quite a July! This year I made a conscious decision to close the computer and go out and enjoy Summer in New England!! My husband has been out of work recovering from surgery so we’ve been having fun going on day trips around our area.
Where we live in New Hampshire we can be in Maine in 30 minutes and down into Massachusetts in 20!
After a very busy first half of the year, it was just what I needed to recharge my battery and get ready for the busiest time of the year for all creators & bloggers….Fall and Christmas!!
And boy, do I have some goooood Fall DIYs planned that I’ll be rolling out in August!!!!
In other fun news, I recently got back from the Haven Conference down in Atlanta! Haven is a yearly conference for home & DIY bloggers and content creators. As much as I love the learning aspect of the conference…and my brain hurts from all the things I want to do!
Just being around a big group that “gets” what you do and spending a few in-person days with the girls that you connect virtually with every day is amazing!!
I was also asked to be one of the mentors and had a group of attendees that I met with throughout the conference. It’s so interesting to meet people doing different things and having different focuses than you…you can learn so much!! I just really love connecting with people and talking…, especially the talking part!!!
Everything is blooming in my garden!! July is the craziest month for growth in my zone 5b/6a New Hampshire garden!
At the end of June, I could see the dirt in my raised beds…now everything is covered with green. OK, some of it IS weeds but it’s green!!!
I would highly recommend growing these Sunfill Purple Sunflowers next year. They are smaller in size (maybe 4 ft tall) and have a smaller stalk so are perfect to use in bouquets. They have the most interesting leaf structure and color and I can’t stop taking pictures of them!!!
Lately on the Blog
Pottery Barn dupes
I’ve started collecting some ideas to freshen up my bedroom this Fall. Of course, I want to keep it budget-friendly without sacrificing style. Check out the Pottery Barn inspired look I put together.
visit Rockport, ma
One of our recent day trips was down to Rockport, Massachusetts. Rockport is a coastal town north of Boston. It’s so quaint and picturesque…seriously, right out of a Hallmark movie! Put it on your list of places to see if you are planning a trip to New England.
flea market fun
I love a good flea market!! We recently took a ride down to the Todd Farm flea market in Rowley, Mass for their Sunday morning flea market. Only spent 20 bucks and left happy!! Check out my visit
Christmas In July
You either love it or hate it…Christmas in July that is!! I for one love the bonus of Hallmark Christmas movies that are on.
This week I joined 20+ of my blogging friends for Christmas in July. I had so much fun pinning all the pretty pictures to my Christmas Pinterest board to save for later when I start figuring out what direction I’m going in this year.
What I’m Loving This Week…
Yesterday I watched the new Shania Twain documentary/ movie on Netflix “Not Just A Girl“…it was really good and I recommend it for sure! It’s less than 1.5 hrs so won’t take up your entire night either.
Are you looking for gifts with a truly New England vibe to them? Check out The Salty Whale’s online store! They are also open on the weekend at their physical shop at The Tannery in Newburyport, Mass
Do you like Coach bags? Did you know they have a kick-butt online outlet store?? They have some great prices on bags right now and added a bunch of products to the clearance section.
It may be almost August but I am still loving cooking outside and all the Summer BBQ foods!! My friends put together an entire easy BBQ menu to take all the work out of searching your Pinterest boards for all the recipes!
Leslie from My 100 Year Old Home wrote a book! It will be released in September but I preordered it from Amazon. Leslie spoke at the conference I was at last weekend, She is so generous with her knowledge and let us all in on her best tips for running such a successful business.
If you follow Leslie this book is 100% all-new photographs and content!!
I love looking at travel pictures of beautiful places! I just finished scrolling through Kim from Shiplap & Shells pictures from her trip to Italy and Greece. You have to look at all her lovely photographs!
Fall Hearth & Hand with Magnolia is out today!
Target released the Fall Hearth & Hand with Magnolia line today! Brass seems to be the metal for this season. Still lots of natural wood pieces. I also noticed one of the trends I am seeing everywhere for this Fall…wine and brown faux flowers and greenery.
One of my personal favorite things about the entire Fall season is the warm rich colors that come along with it.
Thanks for stopping by today!! I’ll be back next week with my first Fall DIY project and a tour of my July garden!!
I was so great to see you at Haven. Enjoyed all of the laughter shared with you, my friend.
Hey Jennifer
So much inspiration. Happy weekend
Thanks, friend!!
