The Weekly Rewind is where I get to share what has been going on behind the scenes, things I’ve seen while out shopping that I think you would all like, and inspiring pictures and projects from around the web.
Exploring Around New Hampshire
I had a busy weekend of checking out a new shop near me, hitting my favorite thrift store (and getting caught in a crazy April thunderstorm!!), and having a nice lunch & afterward walking around downtown Portsmouth, NH.
My husband is having surgery this morning ( a hip replacement) so I knew that I would be sticking around home for the next couple of weeks as he recovers…so I wanted to squeeze in as much as I could over the weekend!! I definitely achieved my goal!!
Mill 77 Exchange
My first fun stop of the weekend was visiting one of my favorite shops, Mill 77 Exchange which just reopened at a new location a few minutes away from me. I started shopping there years ago at their first small location…I found them just as I was first starting to get into refinishing furniture and decorating. In fact, some of my favorite little decor accents that I use season after season were from their original location.
The new store is huge and is set up in such a way that it doesn’t seem cavernous…just really well put together. If you are visiting the New Hampshire Seacoast you have to check them out at 35 Layfayette Rd. North Hampton, NH (Route 1)
Their online shop reopens on April 15th according to their website.
Thrifting!
My next stop was my favorite thrift store, Savers in Newington, NH. I was there a couple of weeks ago and the shelves were pretty bare and I left empty-handed.
But not this past Saturday!!! I left with a fantastic haul!! I’ll be sharing all the things I found and how I’ve used them next week so stay tuned!!
One thing I was so bummed about was this set of green transferware dishes. There were only 3 so I didn’t get them.
But friends, what I’m really upset about is I didn’t go with my gut and just get them for $2.99 because they sell for 10 bucks each!! UGH!!
Portsmouth, NH
Just a few minutes away from me is beautiful Portsmouth, NH. It’s a picturesque waterfront New England town with a quaint downtown with brick sidewalks and cute shops and restaurants lining the streets.
Sunday afternoon was sunny and warm(ish) and I went to lunch and explored some of the shops in Portsmouth. It was nice to see so much hustle and bustle downtown after a long winter!!
I always love exploring the Sea Bags store! The bright-colored bags are so cheerful!! Sea Bags stores originated up the coast in Maine but have lots of locations down the New England coast and a few other states…randomly I just saw that there are a few shops in Michigan too.
There are so many cute shops downtown! It was fun looking at all the coastal-inspired home goods like these cool shell chandeliers.
One of my favorite spots in Portsmouth is Prescott Park during the Summer months when the extensive gardens are in full bloom, you can see my visit there last year and all the beautiful flowers.
On the Blog
It’s all about Spring here on Bunker Hill..full disclosure it’s been pretty cold here in New Hampshire but I’m manifesting a warm and sunny Spring!! It’s almost halfway through April and I refuse to turn on the heat (says the girl wearing her fuzzy sweatshirt and drinking hot coffee to get the chill out!!)
Natural Spring Wreath
This Rustic & Natural Spring Wreath is one of my all-time favorite wreaths that I have made!! I’ve been reading this beautiful Danish magazine digitally (free from my library..check to see if yours have the Overdrive Online State library program) called Jeanne D’Arc and it’s full of all these beautiful images of natural-looking decor and wreaths that I have been just crushing on!
I used fresh pussy willows, quail eggs, feathers, and dried flowers to recreate the Scandinavian vibe.
Spring Front Porch
This week I also got my front porch squared away for Spring. It’s so nice to pull into the driveway and see something bright and pretty! The trees and shrubs haven’t woken up yet in my neck of the woods so it’s nice to see green.
Paper Mache Bowl
I made a paper mache bowl last week…it’s been on my “things I want to make” list for a while! I think it came out pretty cool looking and really does look like old stone.
Pretty Cottage Style Easter/Spring
I put a few of my favorite Spring decorating ideas all together!! Everything from a pretty flower arrangement for your table to my moss ball DIY topiaries. If you are looking for some inspiration for your next project check it out!
