Weekly Rewind
What’s Been Happening
It has been a busy, busy week here on Bunker Hill!! There was a new post every day for the past week…my fingers are so tired from all the typing!!
I’ve also been buried under Christmas decorations here…it’s one of the odd things about this job is that we need to start working on projects and ideas in October!! I actually feel behind because everything isn’t decorated in the house yet…hey, sometimes the creative spirit takes its own time.
But I did get out and have some fun yesterday!!
We have been having an incredible stretch of warm weather and Saturday was the end of the road for the 70-degree days…but it has been such a treat!
Two local shops were having holiday open house weekends!! Let’s Go!

My first stop was to Mill 77 in N. Hampton, NH. It’s an enormous space and it was decked out for Christmas. I grabbed a set of those mini skis that are on the bench to use on my front porch this year.
I picked up 2 of these fuzzy green trees too. They were really cute…and yes, I checked to see if I could DIY them for less but I don’t think so.
Then we headed down to Amesbury, MA. to check out Lee & Co.’s 1st Holiday Open House. Downtown Amesbury is super cute with old brick mill buildings, small shops, and art studios, plus plenty of places to grab something to eat.
…and this pretty waterfall!
Do I need more Christmas decor…no, but am I going inside to buy just one more thing…you probably already know the answer to that!!
I highly recommend heading to a shop or antique store before you decorate just to get some fresh ideas.
You don’t even have to buy anything but just by browsing, you can spark some creativity.
My home is a mix of vintage, thrifted, & new things and I think it creates a nice vibe.
I had to laugh when I saw the metal bell swag! Last December I brought them to a cookie swap party as my Yankee Swap gift.
The bells were swapped quite a few times. Then at the very last swap ripped from the hands of the hostess…LOL, not quite so dramatic but it was funny!
I’ll show you soon the cool metal tree I bought…it’s out in the garage.
On our way home we stopped at the beach to watch the sunset. It was the last warm day of 2022 and I wanted to soak in every last drop of that warmth and sunshine before I start to hibernate.
There were a couple of surfers out there trying to catch the waves from the remnants of the tropical storm coming up the coast.
Just a perfect way to end the day! The beach is my favorite place to find peace and clear my head.

bottle brush tree wreath
This wreath is adorable! It was made from a set of trees that are on Amazon for $16.98 so also budget-friendly…and it took me about 15 minutes to put together.

If you are into vintage-looking Christmas ornaments then you have to see the vintage angel ones I put together this week. The free printable sheet for the angel faces is there for you to download too.

Favorites From The Week
You need to take a photographic tour of Stacy’s garden which is still going strong in her part of New Jersey. She also has a lovely YouTube video so you can take a virtual stroll with Stacy. I’m a little jealous that we’ve had a killing frost and I’m staring out the window at my dead hydrangeas…
I love every single idea in this 23 Christmas Decorating Ideas With Thrift Store Finds from Diane at In My Own Style. I think you will love them too!!
I can’t get enough of the beautiful colors that Wendy’s dried oranges & grapefruit slices have!! I am definitely going to dry blood oranges this season…now if I can only find a bag of oranges that actually look orange (everything has looked lousy up here in NH!)
