Welcome to 2022!! Oh, that just reminded me I have to go order a calendar…I keep forgetting!!
Alright, that’s Amazoned…I just have to wait until Wednesday to plan anything!
So are you busy putting away Christmas this weekend too?? I’ve been slowly putting everything away all week and am just sitting here staring at the last thing…my living room Christmas tree. I just love the glow of the lights at night and may just give it a final swan song tonight!!
Like most of 2021, Christmas didn’t go smoothly! We ended up having a wicked ice and freezing rain storm which messed up our family celebration…and needless to say I’ve survived the past week on all the cookies that were leftover in the house!!
I’m just excited to see what 2022 has to offer…fingers crossed its good stuff!! But it’s fun to take a look back to remember all the fun things that happened around here too!!
Year in Review
Perfect Projects To Make Now!
Looking back to last winter I made a few fun little home decor projects…I have to stay busy during those snowy months!!
These are perfect to make right now to fill up those empty spaces left from Christmas.
Cutting Garden
Looking back on 2021 one of the highlights of my year…and something that brought me such tremendous joy (some heartache too…I’m talking to you stinkin’ voles!!) was expanding my garden to make room for a cutting garden.
I’ve gardened for all my life but this was the first time I have ever started seeds indoors!! I will definitely be doing that again this winter…using all the things I learned (like I probably wouldn’t use those seed trays again!)
All my zinnias were started from seeds I bought from Floret Flower Farm. You have to mark your calendars because the seeds go on sale on JANUARY 5, 2022!!! Get those fingers ready for clicking as quick as you can!!
Here’s the link to the Floret Flower Farm seed shop
Joined The Thrifty Style Team
In the Spring I joined the Thrifty Style Team. It’s a group of bloggers where we all share a styling or DIY project on the 2nd Friday of every month. I love being inspired by my peers and always look forward to the day we all add our project pictures to our little FB group page. We are taking January off but will be back on February 11th.
Trip to Waco!
One of the biggest highlights of my year was going to Waco in June!! Going to Magnolia Market was on my bucket list for a few years.
Not only did I go to Waco but we stayed at one of Chip & Joanna’s rental properties!!! I am telling you when you opened the front door of Hillcrest Estate you could almost imagine Chip & Jo sliding that giant billboard away and saying “Welcome home”..it was surreal!!
As someone who has been so inspired by Fixer Upper and it made me fall in love with all things home & DIY because of that show, it was like a dream come true!!!
I mean I became a blogger because it became such a passion for me!!
You can check out ALL THINGS MAGNOLIA to see everything about that week!!
My First Conference
In July I headed down to Atlanta to the Haven Conference. It was the 10th year of the Haven conference and I’ve always dreamed of going. The conference is jam-packed with seminars and I learned so much…I mean I got to take a YouTube class from someone who I’ve been watching on YouTube for a couple of years!! (Christina Muscari of Pretty Distressed)
But the absolute best part was getting to meet all of my blogging friends in real life and hanging out with them!!
My First Magazine!!
One of the most amazing things happened this year…I was in a magazine!! Seriously, it feels crazy saying that still!!
I was lucky enough to have one of my projects featured in the Fall issue of American Farmhouse Style magazine!! Talk about checking something off the bucket list!!!
Another exciting thing that happened last Fall was making it to the finals for the 2022 Cottages & Bungalows Brand Ambassador contest!! I didn’t make it to the Top 3 but I was proud of myself for making it that far!! The gal that won is going to be fantastic..she’s adorable!
My Fall tablescape was part of my final submission.
Top 10 Reader’s Favorite Posts
I just reviewed all my statistics for 2021 and figured out what the Top 10 new posts for the year were!! There are DIYs, decor, & a recipe…
What this tells me is that you, my readers, are just like me…you love a little bit of everything!!
What To Expect for 2022
More of everything!! I’ll start this week off with budget-friendly decor to refresh your home after Christmas, I’m working on ideas for my garden and will be sharing what worked and what didn’t last year, some new wreaths for that weird time when it’s still Winter and not quite Spring (but you are sick to death of everything about winter), some thrift & antique store finds, exploring and sharing what I love about New England and soooo much more so I hope you all stick around for the fun!!
You had an amazing year! So happy for you and happier we are friends! Here’s to all your dreams in 2022! xo
