Lee & Co. is the newest place to find home decor, furniture, and vintage goods in Massachusetts. Located in downtown Amesbury at 7 Market Square
My First Trip to the New Lee & Co. Store
I’ve been looking forward to visiting Lee & Co. since the owner Lee Vose first told me about her intention to go out on her own and open a brick & mortar store.
Lee is a familiar face to anyone who shops at the Vintage Bazaar New England markets, visits Green Plum Vintage in Newburyport, or does the Brimfield shows.
I have to tell you that I first became acquainted with Lee when I was just getting into decorating and the Fixer Upper show had just started. I purchased my first big piece of refinished furniture from her.
It was a big ‘ole chalk-painted white hutch that I LOVED!! It was so much fun to style for all the seasons. I still have it and use it downstairs in my studio.
Way back then I had no idea that my journey would lead me to Cottage on Bunker Hill and that decorating and DIYing would be my career!! It’s funny the path life takes you on.
Lee & Co. Location
Lee & Co. is located right smack dab in the middle of downtown Amesbury, Ma. at 7 Market Square,
It’s such a cute area! There are all old brick mill buildings and small shops and eateries lining the streets.
Amesbury, Ma is on the North Shore of the state close to the beaches and Newburyport.
Tour the Store
Our visit was on the Grand Opening Weekend at the end of August. The store was buzzing!
We even bumped into a couple of old friends…which was great because my husband had someone to chat with while I made sure that I saw every last inch of the store!!
What I especially love is that there is the perfect mix of old and new! Lee has an incredible stash of vintage merchandise from bigger furniture pieces to smaller items like vintage dishes and silverware.
I didn’t grab these silver dollar stems…although I loved them…and have been thinking about the darn things ever since!! I was focused on Fall decorating.
This huge china cabinet was so pretty!! It’s so much fun looking at all the hidden gems in displays like this! From the vintage metal chandelier on the top to all the ironstone tucked into the shelves.
Ironstone is fun to collect and display! I have a few pieces that I use in my own china cabinet and white is such a great neutral to use for every season.
For Fall I have a smaller creamer filled with antique silverware and I took off the cover to a soup tureen and filled it with dried hydrangeas from my garden.
The Lee & Co. store is huge…well, I think it is for this kind of store! There are all little nooks and crannies to explore.
In the back of the space, there is a man cave section set up that has a super cool vibe to it!
Perfect spot for the bored husband to hang out as you pick through everything in the store!!
The store is stocked with so many affordable decor pieces to add a pop of color to your home.
I am always a sucker for mixing old & new pieces in a space!
One thing that I noticed throughout the store is the displays with vintage and new items styled together.
Perfect for shoppers who aren’t quite sure how to do it on their own.
Oh my gosh, that gold frame was gorgeous!! Where are my French Country girls??? Wouldn’t that look amazing over a mantle??
This clay leaf set was lovely with the green detailing of the plant veins. If you live far away I have a way to make your own clay leaf trinket dishes.
So next time you are near the Amesbury area you have to make a trip down the Lee & Co.
You’ll have so much fun strolling through the store and getting ideas.
Make sure you take the time to explore all the baskets and bins scattered throughout the store…you’ll find so many goodies!
What Did I Buy…
Well, how stinkin’ cute are these felted pumpkins and acorns?? You know I couldn’t leave without a few of each!!
In addition to the felted Fall pieces, I found two small children’s books from the 1800s, a neat wooden covered bowl, and a ceramic pear.
The felted pumpkins are part of a dried flower arrangement I made and I hung the acorns from the knob of my china hutch.
The books are on my entryway table, the colors are perfect for Fall. Check out the rest of the entryway and how I Decorated with Thrift Store Finds for Fall.
Love your ideas!
Thanks!! It’s a great store.
Jennifer, what a lovely store. I always enjoy looking around shops. Like you I love mixing old with new in my spaces. It just adds so much character to a space. Such a charming shop!
Yes, it’s a fun spot for sure!! Chuck didn’t even complain too much!
Jennifer, thank you for the tip on Lee & Company. I live in Massachusetts and frequently visit that area. I have a list of places to visit on my phone and just added this shop to the list. With Christmas approaching I am sure they will have some great treasures for us to buy.
Yes, definitely check it out! You’ll have to try ad get to the Christmas Vintage Bazaar New England show in Dec. It’s going to be up in Newington Dec 2-4. Here’s the link to her Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/TheVintageBazaar
