Make It The Coziest Fall Ever

In: DECORATING, Decorating Tips & Tricks, Fall Decorating Ideas & Projects, Shopping

Are you ready for Fall?? Oh, I just love Autumn in New Hampshire…it’s the most beautiful time of the year!!! My favorite thing about Fall is the chance to make my home super cozy.

I have to be honest…I barely touch anything inside my home during the Summer months!! Most of my time and energy goes to my garden and spending as much time outside as I can! When the weather starts to cool down and the days get shorter it’s definitely time to start thinking about making everything cozy again.

This post may include affiliate links; you can read my disclosure policy here.

Here are my tips to make it the coziest Fall ever!!

1. Cozy throws

Hands up if you love to curl up under a cozy throw on a chilly night and watch a Hallmark movie or Gilmore Girls…oh wait, that’s me!!

Seriously, I love throws…and my boys do too!! We are always on the hunt for the softest ones we can find.

Here are a few of my choices for this Fall:

Throw Pillows

Here’s an easy way to make your space instantly feel cozier…change out your throw pillows!! Trade out your linen or cotton pillows for something a little softer to rest your arm ( or head) on.

There are so many options for perfect throw pillows for Fall. Right now there are so many velvets, faux fur, and sweater knits available…and at super affordable prices!

Tossing on a few new pillows is the quickest way to change the vibe of your room!

Candles

It’s time to break out the candles!! There’s something about the cool, crisp air of Fall that makes you want to have a candle flickering on your coffee table or in your kitchen. Plus, there are so many retailers that carry really great candles now!

Electric fireplaces

Since not everyone has a fireplace to curl up in front of…why not add an electric fireplace to a room?? OK, the new electric fireplaces aren’t anything like those plastic logs they used to make years ago…so calm down!!

The new fireplaces come in so many styles and they can really up the cozy in your room!!

It is also an electric heater so it actually does make your room warm & cozy. Most have an option to just have the flame going without the heat too.

I added one to our bedroom last Fall and I loooove it!! Let me tell you, there was nothing better than curling up and watching a good Hallmark movie with the fireplace going last winter!!

Slow Cookers & Soup Bowls

Once the weather cools down it’s time to pull out the slow cooker and start whipping up some soups and stews.

In the cooler weather, I always have homemade soup for lunch.

Two things you need for good soup… a slow cooker and a good ‘ole big soup bowl to eat it with!!
