Here are a few ideas for decorating your front porch for Fall using farmhouse-inspired touches.
The air is starting to change and the crickets are chirping away signaling that Fall is on the way. I’m starting to think about how I want to decorate outside on my porch this year.
I was scrolling through some of my pictures of past Fall front porches and thought I’d share my favorite.
I love to use traditional Autumn colors; especially here in New Hampshire, the Fall foliage makes such a beautiful backdrop for your porch decor.
This was one of my favorites! I mixed woods and metals.
The wooden crates and metal containers the mums are in I picked up flea marketing. I added burlap leaves to my pumpkins on the steps which looked charming.
DIY Harvest sign
The “Harvest” sign was a quick DIY using chalk paint, a precut piece of wood from Lowe’s, and stencils. It’s so easy.
- Grab a piece of the precut 4ft pine boards from Lowe’s or the HD.
- Paint the board with orange chalk paint, let dry
- Use large letter stencils to trace on the HARVEST with pencil
- Fill in the stencils with white chalk paint
There was a mix of faux and real pumpkins and a few made out of grapevine.
Another Fall Front Porch Look
Here’s another view of my porch from a different year. I added the wooden cart filled with pumpkins and a couple of other flea market items (the old milk jug and the metal watering can).
This year I used a grapevine garland around my door and a different Autumn wreath (I have a wreath hoarding problem!).
I hand-painted this sign using a photo I saw on Pinterest as my guide.
The milk jug was a flea market find-it’s from an old creamery in Massachusetts.
