How To Make Your Own Wood Slice Ornaments
So to make these easy ornaments for my Christmas tree I used unfinished wood snowflake ornaments and large round wood slices that I got off of Amazon…super easy so far!!
You could paint the snowflakes whatever color goes with your own Christmas style.
I gave my wood snowflakes a quick coat of rose gold spray paint…side note, I am on a rose gold metallic crush this Christmas and have it sprinkled throughout my decor. You have to check out the Christmas Village and Jingle Bell Wreath to see what I mean!!
If you don’t want to use spray paint, a quick coat of acrylic or chalk paint using a paintbrush would work just as well.
I happen to have a spray paint station set up in my garage for all the projects I’ve been doing so it was just as easy to use spray paint.
Once the spray paint was dry, I used a sponge brush to apply Mod Podge onto the back of one of the snowflakes. I tapped it on so I wouldn’t have an overflow dripping down the sides.
Then while the Mod Podge was still wet, I centered the wood snowflake over the wood slice and place it down.
I made sure the hanging loop on the snowflake stuck out about the wood slice so I could hang it on my tree.
For my ornaments, I used a delicate metallic gold ribbon for hanging instead of a hook. Then let the Mod Podge dry completely before I hung them up.
Finished Wood Slice Ornaments
Now to hang them on my tree… Don’t they look so pretty??!!!
I think they look perfect with my Winter Woodland Themed Christmas decor I have in my living room this season!
