I’ll show you my top DIY projects that you can make for your garden this season. You could make them all in a weekend!
My Top 3 Projects You Can Build For Your Garden
Well, since we are getting an April Nor’easter here in New Hampshire there won’t be any gardening for me today! Last Spring was busy for me and I built quite a few things for my gardens. I love to DIY garden projects because first, it saves $$ and it’s just plain fun using power tools!!
For my vegetable garden, I made a folding trellis and also a tall garden obelisk tower. For my backyard patio space, I put together a couple of raised beds with trellises.

Folding A Frame Trellis
This folding A-frame trellis is a fairly quick project and I put it together on a Sunday afternoon. You can use an A-frame trellis to grow snow peas and sugar snaps in early Spring. They are also great for cucumbers. I love to grow my cucumbers vertically!
The great thing about this one is that it uses standard size wood boards so there’s no sawing; I grabbed my boards at Lowe’s and could jump right into the project!
Just a little measuring and then a power drill for the wood screws and hinges to attach the 2 sides together.
Then paint or stain, and I would suggest a poly coat to protect it outside.
In sad news, I had 2 horrible mean bunnies that ate every…single…snow pea last Spring!!

Garden Obelisk Tower
This garden obelisk project requires a little measuring and a saw. Don’t worry it’s really not scary…seriously if I can do it anyone can!!
The obelisk I built is tall; I wanted it to be the centerpiece of the garden. It would be easy to adjust the size down for a smaller one ( I plan on building a couple of smaller ones this Spring too!).
You can find the plans for this obelisk right here.
I have to admit, I was pretty impressed with myself when I placed it in my garden!! I love how it looks!
All the vegetable supports you see in my garden are from Gardener’s Supply Company; I can’t say enough about the quality of their products! I’ve had the tomato towers and cucumber trellises for more than a decade and they still look good as new!! Totally worth the investment. (not sponsored, just love the company!!)

Raised Bed With Trellis
As far as DIY garden projects go, this raised bed w/ trellis one has a lot of bang for your buck! It makes such a statement in your patio space.
If you are seeking an option for creating a little privacy in your patio area and a place for more plants I have the project for you!!
Last year I made 2 of these bad boys for my backyard patio space. It’s an open gravel patio and these trellises helped make it feel more like an outdoor room.
My complete plans for the raised bed planter are right here.
One of the beds I used for flowers and the other one I filled with kitchen herbs.
