I’m a guest participant in this October’s One Room Challenge. The One Room Challenge happens twice a year (in April and October) and runs for six weeks.
Participants transform one room over the challenge and document it every week. I’m a week behind ( I lost a week to being sick…I hate being sick, it’s such a waste of time!!)
I’ve had my bedroom on my to do list for awhile…why is it we always get our own bedrooms done last????…

There’s nothing wrong with my current room; it’s just been this way for a couple of years and I’m ready for a change. My goal is to transform my master bedroom into a cozy Winter retreat. Winter is coming…
I want to create a seating area where I can work on my laptop to write to all of you; now I either type away at my kitchen counter (like I’m doing now) or hop on my bed (which makes me sleepy!!).
I started on this side of my bedroom this weekend by emptying out my dresser and reorganizing my closet; all of which didn’t cost me a dime! Marie Kondo would have been proud of me…I used her method and went through all my clothes.
I added a few more wire cubes ( I already had them in the basement to store my extra throw pillows) and a couple of baskets I already had and now everything I own is in my closet!
These are the interlocking storage cubes that I have on my closet. Pro tip: I use a hammer to tap the corner pieces on.

One Room Challenge- Mood Board

I’m planning on keeping my room pretty neutral. I want a space I can go into at the end of my day and totally decompress.
Here’s My Plan For The One Room Challenge:
- Cozy Seating Area
- Accent Wall Behind Bed
- New Bedding
- Pretty Lighting
- Larger Rug
- Change Artwork
I hope you follow along with me as I transform my room into a cozy Winter retreat!!
The master bedroom makeover is truly impressive. The color scheme and furnishings create a serene atmosphere. It’s evident a lot of thought and effort went into this transformation. Kudos for the inspiring design!
