My Coastal Summer Essentials

In: LIFESTYLE, Shopping

I’m sharing all the coastal Summer essentials that I am loving this year. Here are my must-haves for this season

My Summer Must-Haves

I am so incredibly happy that Summer is here!! There is just something wonderful about living near the coast…especially during the warmer New England months. Give me a good pair of sandals, and a cute sundress and I’ll see you in the Fall!!

Summer is all about easy living. That means I want to be able to wear comfortable clothes that still look nice and fit in with my coastal girl’s heart. You don’t have to live near the ocean to have your own coastal vibe this Summer and I’m going to show you exactly what I have in my closet.

You can count on the fact that I will be out looking for good deals…never pay full price!! So everything that I am going to share with you is both stylish and affordable.

I also have everything that I am sharing not just showing you things that I like (it would be a much longer list!!! LOL)

This post may include affiliate links; you can read my disclosure policy here.

Coastal Sundress

OK, not only does this dress scream New England Summer…it’s soooo affordable! It’s from Walmart and I bought it last month for $22. I thought that was a deal but now it’s marked down to $16.50 so I don’t think it will be around for long!!

Denim Jacket

Even after a hot summer day, it’s pretty common for there to be a cool breeze at night at the beach. This cute Old Navy denim jacket is a definite must-have to add to your summer closet! I plan to wear it over that blue sundress when we are dining outside. One of my favorite coastal looks is a jean jacket over a dress or a pair of linen shorts.

Wristlet Bag

In the summer instead of carrying my bag around when we go out or are taking a beach walk I like to just throw my essentials in a wristlet…as long as there is room for a credit card, cash, keys, and lip gloss I can take over the world!!

This wristlet is from the Coach Outlet. Did you know that Coach has an online outlet? They have really good deals and huge sales all the time too (sign up for the emails and they will let you know). This wristlet is around $40 today (the prices change all the time) and is the perfect size when you don’t want to carry your bag.

Straw Bag

Straw handbags just scream Summer!!! Not only do they just feel New England-y but they are the perfect size to throw a water bottle or book in when you head out for the day. This straw bag is from Target and is $40 when it’s not on sale.

Sandals

When I find shoes that are comfortable I usually repeat order them, I have such a tough time finding shoes, sneakers, or sandals that are comfortable after an ankle and ligament injury a few years ago! So when I find something that works I remember it.

These Clark sandals are from Amazon and come in a bunch of colors and sizes. The prices are all over the place (you know Amazon!) but most today this rose gold pair is $32.95 You will find me wearing these most of the time during the Summer months because they are great to kick around in.

Bathing Suit

The dreaded bathing suit!!! UGH, is there anything worse than trying on bathing suits after being stuck in the house all winter getting paler and paler!! Honestly, I am at a point in my life where I have stopped worrying about what others think about me, so much wasted time worrying about how I looked in a bathing suit (back when I looked pretty darn good!!) You just have to live it up and get out there and enjoy life!

That being said, I have always had great luck with Land’s End bathing suits. They are so well made and come in so many different styles. This year I went with a cute tie-dye top that is super flattering and fits like a tank top and a board skort for the bottom in a fun pink color.

I have a good Land’s End discount code (good thorough 6/22/22) for 50% off everything (a few things are excluded): TRUNKS

Packable Beach Tote

Do I need another beach bag??? No! Did I get this beach bag because I was crushing on the cute stripes??? 100% yes!! What do you expect…all those coastal preppy vibes… add to cart!!

It’s a great size without being huge and bulky. Fits your beach or day trip essentials. Fun fact: gotta have Cheeze-Its at the beach, I rarely eat them at home but everyone in my family scarves them down when we are at the beach!! Cheeze-Its and DIet Coke…beach must-haves!

Don’t forget the 50% discount code TRUNKS for Land’s End until 6/22/22

Sunglasses

I mentioned earlier that when I find shoes that I like I usually repeat buy them. The same thing goes for sunglasses. For some reason, I have a tough time finding sunglasses that look good on my face. Aviators and Wayfarer styles look awful on me…so if you are like me these are the glasses for you! I usually find them at the Loft Outlet but they have them online too.

Beach Towel

The Better Homes & Gardens towels are my favorites! They are under $15 each and are big and thick. I usually have to pick up a couple of new ones every year because…kids…they leave them at their friend’s houses or in their cars never to be seen again!!

Slip-On Sneakers

Super comfortable in the Summer months and feel good without socks on too! These Adidas slip-on sneakers are my favorites to wear in the warmer months. Easy to kick off so you can walk barefoot on the sand and easy to pack in a bag for a trip because they aren’t as bulky as traditional sneaks.

Summer Makeup

Actually, both of these products are staples for me year round!! I’ve been wearing this Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer for years!! It is super hydrating and has nice light coverage. Perfect for the Summer when you want a more natural-looking makeup look.

This is a great bronzer/blush/highlighter palette from It Cosmetics. Super natural-looking bronzer…not glittery or fake looking. It’s also nice to have everything in one case if you are traveling this Summer…less to pack in your makeup bag!

So what do you think?? I think I found some pretty great coastal looks for this Summer!! I can almost hear the seagulls and smell the sunscreen….
