I’m into my third week of not working and self-isolating now and it’s amazing all the free time I have during the day! I can’t believe how fast the days go by-although I was in the shower Wednesday morning and genuinely couldn’t remember what day it was!!
One of the things I did this week was a little kitchen refresh by giving the kitchen cabinets a fresh coat of white paint. I had only intended on filling in the chips…but I realized that my cabinets were looking a little dull.

This is the paint that I use on my cabinets. It’s a urethane enamel that is very strong and durable to use on cabinets. It’s a pre-mixed paint that is available at your Sherwin Williams store (shade is Extra White).
step 1
I wiped down all the cabinets to get rid of any dirt and grease first; it’s really important to make sure your cabinets are free of dust and grease so your paint goes on smoothly. I also removed all the door pulls..all 31 of them (my hands were so sore from unscrewing them!!).
step 2
I first went around and filled in any chips or scratches with a small artist paintbrush. After the paint had dried I started giving all the cabinets a fresh coat of bright white paint.
I love these small silicone-handled brushes from Lowe’s; they are so much more comfortable to use than a long-handled brush and you can really cut in small spaces sooo much easier too!
I can totally understand why painters charge so much to do cabinets! Just going over my cabinets with a quick coat of paint took a couple of days to finish. My small kitchen actually has 31 drawers or cabinet doors.
step 3
I’ve been waiting for an excuse to change out my hardware so this was a perfect time to make the switch. Amazon is my favorite resource for finding cabinet knobs and pulls. I don’t think you can beat their prices when you need a bunch for a project.
I chose simple, modern matte black cabinet pulls.
Another project checked off my list!
Here are the finished cabinets in my coffee bar area. The entire space just looks so much brighter now! I will never get tired of the magic in paint.
You can see how I did the backsplash here.
Take Care, Friends!
Such a beautiful kitchen you have! Keep sharing and inspiring through such posts!
