Ideas For Hosting New Year’s Eve At Home

In: Decorating Tips & Tricks, LIFESTYLE, Recipes

So are you ready to ring in the New Year this week?? It seems everyone is hanging out at home this year. That’s perfect for me because I love staying home for NYE…you know the saying “Go big or go home”…well going home is literally my goal!!

If you are like my friends (and me!) you want to make it a fun, festive night…we’ve put together some fantastic ideas for hosting New Year’s Eve at home. Thanks to Robyn (Robyn’s French Nest) for organizing our group!

Low-Key Celebration

Are you one of those people that spends New Year’s Eve reminiscing about the past year or are you already dreaming about 2022??? I confess I’ve been doing a little bit of both this past week!!

Our New Year’s tradition has always been to cook up a bunch of appetizers and hang out in the living room and watch movies. Now that my boys are older and do things with their friends for NYE I don’t need to make nearly as much food…and I can serve appetizers that they wouldn’t eat anyway (What is it with kids and mozzarella sticks anyway??!!)

For the festivities I made two easy…and delish… appetizers! Easy Bruschetta and Spinach & Artichoke Bites.

Vintage Home

Do you collect any vintage items?? If you do you know it’s like a little game…always on the lookout for that one last thing to finish your collection (umm, you know you never finish the collection)

Michele of Vintage Home has the prettiest collections of vintage goodies! Wait until you see how she used one of her collections in a timely manner…pun intended…

She is another one that has the “set an amazing table” superpower…

My Little White Barn

I first became familiar with Shannon of My Little White Barn over on TikTok…she makes the best videos!! She’s very creative. You have to check out her account for some video inspo. If you are thinking that TikTok is only for teens dancing around…well, nope…there’s so much design, DIY, and cooking going on over there too.

Shannon has a super easy & pretty idea for a centerpiece for your New Year’s table.

Open Doors Open Hearts

Aliya from Open Doors Open Hearts is the…sweetest…person…ever!!! I met her last summer and just fell in love with her!! She is the Momma of younger kids so it’s no surprise she came up with something super fun for them to enjoy New Year’s too!! (perfect for all of us grown-ups too!!)

here are a few fun facts…

  1. I’ve lived in New England my entire life! This is good because the beach is my favorite place to be…even in the winter, I love to go breathe in the salt air.
  2. I am an EARLY BIRD!!! I rarely sleep past 4…it’s my favorite time of day and those wee hours are my most productive. (plus, I LOVE coffee!!)
  3. The Gilmore Girls is my favorite all-time TV show…I’ve seen every episode at least 20 times!! “You jump, I jump, Jack” is my #1 favorite. (I.Y.K.Y.K.)
