What’s Been Happening
Hello friends!! I hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend (for my American readers!!). The weather in New England has been spectacular lately and we are taking advantage of every minute!!
This past weekend we took a ride down to Rockport, MA for the afternoon. The fantastic thing about where we live in coastal New Hampshire is that we have less than an hour’s drive to so many beautiful places to explore!
Rockport is a picturesque coastal town..straight out of a Hallmark movie! It has the cutest downtown shopping area with small art galleries mingled in.
We found a little back road to park and I saw there was a pathway to the water through the trees. What an amazing spot overlooking Rockport harbor and the town! There were granite benches to sit on and just enjoy the view. My husband Chuck and I chilled up there for quite a while watching the sailboats…the water was so calm too!
One of the cool features of Rockport is all the art galleries and shops that sell locally made pieces. Just look at these driftwood mobiles!! Wouldn’t they look so neat hanging out on your patio?? This is one project that I would like my hand at making….I will most definitely be on the lookout for driftwood when I’m walking on the beach!! (the best time to find it on our NH shores is after a big Nor’easter storm!!)
On our drive back home we stopped at my all-time favorite seafood joint, Woodman’s in Essex, MA. I have been coming here since I was a kid. It’s not fancy…but oh my gosh, it’s so yummy!! I have to get fried scallops once a year ( and with how much they were, that will be good enough!!). My entire family loves all seafood, steamers, lobsters, and everything in between…but my husband and boys don’t!! (that’s why my husband is having chicken!)

This week you can check out my visit to Vintage Bazaar New England. There were over 140 different vendors and you have to see all the cool stuff I found!!
If you are in the New England area there is going to be a bazaar July 23 &24 up at Waterville Valley Resort. I am going to miss this one but I will be at the October bazaar…so if you are local you have to let me know so I can meet you!!
I also took you on a tour of my flower gardens. Things are finally starting to take off in my part of New England…honestly, I was getting worried at how slow everything was coming along!! (My peppers are puny though!!)
Speaking of gardens. did you see my Vintage Garden Tool Wreath that I made for outside my cottage garden or the cute Peter Rabbit-inspired garden??

OK, I have to admit that I have been slacking on reading books since last year! I love escaping in a good book but lately, I have been spending all my free time with my nose in this laptop working on this site…but I have made a promise to myself to put up my feet and read this Summer!! I saw on a TikTok booktok video that Every Summer After was the perfect Summer read so I am starting with this one.
You would have to live under a rock not to know that July 12 & 13 are Amazon Prime Days...but other retailers are also trying to compete with amazing deals too! I just saw that Target is having Target Deal Days and has 25% off of college essentials and a ton of other stuff like furniture!
Next week I’m flying down to Atlanta for the Haven Conference. I’m so excited to see all my blogging buddies!! This year I am also going to be one of the mentors which is such an honor. But I have to tell you I’m so anxious to have my flights delayed or canceled!!!! So fingers crossed for me please!!!!!
