Hello friends!! How is everything in your neck of the world?? We had a big snowstorm on Friday…but it was the light fluffy snow that I love. Everything looks so pretty.
It was funny because the day before my friend Kim (Cottage In The Mitten) was asking me if we had any snow here (she’s in Michigan and I’m in New Hampshire) and I sent her the picture on the left…which looks like Fall!
It’s going to be frigid around New England for the next few days…Arctic Blast!! One must-have for me is a warm hat. Here are a few super cute ones that I found online.

winter Hats
Speaking of the Arctic… I am totally obsessed with watching this YouTube channel lately!! Her name is Cecilia and she lives in Svalbard which is on the way to the North Pole. It’s not the isolated life I assumed it would be there…they have everything up there! I love seeing how other people in the world live, I think it’s so interesting.
Winter Wall Art
Are you looking to fill a big space on a wall for the Winter months? You have to check out the Snowflake Winter Wall Art I shared this week on the blog.
This project was inspired by a Pottery Barn wall sign I had seen in their catalog that was $200! Mine cost around $20!!!
Also on the blog this week I shared a bunch of easy ideas to refresh your home in January. There’s just something about January that makes me crave a fresh, clean space!
JUST A GIRL PRETENDING IT’S NOT 20° OUTSIDE…
For my upcoming HometalkTV show, I’m sharing one of my favorite projects. This DIY Tulip Bulb Planter is a fun little project to chase the winter blues away…and don’t those tulips look real?? The artificial tulips that I used are made out of a latex-type material which makes them so realistic. They are from Amazon and will run you around $20 for 30 stems.
Update Your Wall Art
So when I’m redecorating or changing up a space it all usually comes together in kind of a domino effect…one thing sparks the inspiration for the rest of the room…anyone else??
I’ve styled an entire room around a piece of artwork, pulling out colors to sprinkle throughout the room.
So when I was scrolling through the new wall art on Target I came across a few pieces that would be perfect jumping-off points to restyle a room. The bottom right picture is my whole mood right now…
My wall art picks will run you between $20 and $60
- 30″ x 24″ GREEN HILL ($55)
- SAILBOATS ($20)
- 30″ x30″ STUDIO MCGEE WONDEROUS ($60)
- SET OF 2 MATTED ABSTRACTS ($40)
- 20″x20″ ABSTRACT SEASCAPE ($40)
What a difference a couple of days makes. That snow is so beautiful!
We had a giant rainstorm last week and all of it melted away…I was running out to get the Sunday paper today thinking how strange it is to throw on sneakers and walk across the grass at the end of January!
Jennifer, I think we have gotten more snow in Maryland than you all. We are suppose to get more on Sunday. I don’t mind though and like how beautiful it looks. I want the fluff snow not this wet heavy snow with ice storm.
Glad you finally got some!
I think so too…it’s pouring here this morning but I saw lots of snow south of me!
That picture did look like fall! How quickly things change! More snow expected, so I better snag one of those super cute hats. Thankful for you, friend! xo
Awww, right back atcha!! Pom pom hats are the cure for any bad hair day!!
