Thrifted & Vintage Ideas for Spring

Jennifer Howard

When I'm out thrifting or at a flea market I always look for...

Metal buckets, pitchers, vases that I can use in a DIY, baskets, wood boxes & crates, and serving trays just to name a few.

Antique Wood Box

Think of unique ways to add your vintage finds around your home. I popped a planter inside this one for a fun Spring look.

Vintage Books

Here I stacked a couple vintage books and topped them off with a little DIY bird's nest.

Thrifted Vase & Painting

Spring Porch

On my porch I used a mix of thrift store pieces (the chair was $2) and flea market finds (watering can was $2!), along with vintage crates and pails.

From Dumpster to Garden!

Found it by a dumpster, painted it with aqua and copper paint and put it out in my cottage flower garden.

A reader favorite project! Taking a thrift store vase and turning it into a Pottery Barn knock-off.  (using joint compound & paint)

Vintage Pitcher

I'm always on the lookout for pitchers when I'm thrifting...they are perfect for flowers. Like these artificial tulips (they look real, don't they!!)

So check out Google maps for your local thrift and vintage stores...you can also search for flea markets near you! You might be surprised at how many are in your area.
