Let me show my easy tips for a pretty spring table using bright colors, a DIY table-long flower and fruit centerpiece, and simple place settings.
Spring Fling Party
This month I am joining a few of my friends for their monthly virtual dinner club. Every month they have a different themed virtual party and the talented group comes up with a fresh tablescape idea and then a recipe…you end up with an entire themed menu. It’s such a fun idea and considering we all live scattered across the U.S. and can’t really all get together for dinner every month, this is the next best thing.
But I have had the pleasure of meeting them all in “real life” and spending time with them and they are all such great gals and I am happy to call them all my friends.
This month’s party theme is “Spring Fling Salad Bar”. We’ll be sharing our recipes and the menu on Saturday. I’ll be showing you how to make your own edible fruit arrangement, you will love it (it’s so cute!).
If you are visiting here after seeing Stacy’s 10-Minute Quick Table Decor Ideas didn’t you love her ideas? Her dining room is so pretty and she always sets incredible tables.
Bright & Pretty Spring Table and Centerpiece
I’ve very recently changed my dining area up and this is my first time setting a table on it! Formerly I had a round table in this space and no rug. It’s a small space so I don’t have room for a grand table. This new table is 48″ long and I love the gray/ brown distressed look of the wood.
Since it was a long winter here in New England I am soooo ready for Spring! So for this table, I am going to make it pretty & bright.
Along with a few fun colors I will also be using spring flowers and artificial fruit stems to create this Spring tablescape.

Pretty & Bright Table Setting Idea
For this table, I gathered up items that I already had:
- Bright aqua-blue round placemats (Kohls)
- Green dinner plates (I found at the thrift store last week)
- Polka dot napkins (Walmart clearance a few years ago)
- Rattan napkin rings (Similar from Amazon)
- Green Glasses (Amazon)
- Modern Flatware (Amazon)
- White Salad Bowls (Walmart)

DIY Spring Centerpiece & Table Runner
Centerpiece
Last weekend I found this rustic basket at the thrift store for $3.49. It was a great find!! For this Spring table, I thought it would make the perfect centerpiece.
To dress it up for Spring I found a vase of miniature daffodils at Trader Joe’s which happened to fit perfectly inside the basket! Then I covered the top with a little more Spanish moss and added quail eggs and a feather…these little details are important when you are putting together a special look.
A few branches of fresh pussy willow stems curved along the handle of the basket and it was done and ready for the table.
Decorated Table Runner
Down the center of the table, I put down a table runner that I have had for at least 10 years truth be told. It is a pretty aqua blue with berries and leaves, perfect for the idea I have in mind for this Spring themed tablescape.
For the base of the floral runner that I want to create I started with a greenery garland.
Since I will be making a fruit arrangement for this virtual dinner party, then I had the idea to incorporate fruit into my tablescape.
Luckily, I already have some artificial branches that would be perfect: raspberry, boysenberry, and peach stems.
The berry stems are from Craftoutlet.com, this place is my secret weapon for supplies…they have amazing prices and things you won’t find at your local craft store.
Unfortunately, the site says the stems are out of stock and overdue. The peach stems were from Michaels a few years back but Amazon has some and Hobby Lobby. Ballard Design has some gorgeous peach stems…but they are expensive!
To elevate the basket centerpiece am using a wood plant stand that I got at Walmart. It’s really nice and was only $12.88
I layered the stems into the greenery garland. The various fruit stems and then I added a few artificial white tulip stems.
One little decorating tip that I will share with you is to buy a roll of grapevine garland. Let me tell you, it is such a nice accent to have in your craft stash! All I did was cut a few small twigs from the roll of garland and wind it between the flowers. This adds a little rustic, natural touch to the floral table runner.
How I Set A Pretty Spring Table
For the table setting, I started with the round woven placemat. On top of that I added a white charger, then the thrift store green dinner plates, followed by white salad bowls.
Then the brushed silver/ brown handled flatware and light green beverage glasses that would be the perfect size for iced tea or lemonade.
Then finished off with the bright napkin threaded through a woven napkin ring. Nothing fancy!
The different patterned napkins added a whimsical feel to the tablescape.
The Finished Spring Table
Now it really feels like Spring here! To dress up the plant stand for the basket I added a moss wreath and Spanish moss, It hid the wood stand and made a nice base for the basket.
