Come take a tour of how pretty everything looks blanketed in the snow outside and the glow of the Christmas lights inside.
We just had our first snow of the season. It was just a little bit but now we will be celebrating a white Christmas here in New Hampshire. Honestly, it just doesn’t feel like the holidays if there isn’t snow on the ground here.
We’re just a few days from Christmas and everything is decorated and ready to celebrate with the family later this week.
As much as I love the long, warm days of summer there is something cozy about this time of year when we spend more time indoors, especially with the glow of the Christmas lights.
And guess what…I have a group of friends that feel the same way!!
We are going to give you tours of our homes at night so we can share our Christmas lights and show off our Christmas decorations once last time with you.
If you just popped over from Anne of Simply2Moms home and her elegant Candlelight Christmas Tour wasn’t it lovely..and she is just as lovely! Thanks to Anne and AnnMarie for organizing this so we can share our homes with you today.

Christmas at Night
The winters in New England slow everything down just a bit. Since it gets dark so early up here and the temperatures drop you tend to spend more time at home during the Christmas season. The glow of all the Christmas lights makes everything feel so warm and cozy!
To add a soft glow I’ve scattered battery-operated flameless candles throughout the house this season, they even flicker like real candles if you want and I have them on timers to turn on around dusk.
But my favorite view I think this Christmas is this one. At night the lights from the tree, the strings of fairy lights, and the candles light up the entire room!
I’m not going to lie… I am enjoying sitting in the living room at night watching my cheesy Christmas movies with the glow of lights surrounding me under a warm blanket!
But guess what, when I wake up at dark o’clock I turn on the Christmas tree lights and have my coffee and catch the local news before I start my day.
Oh, I highly recommend getting an Amazon smart plug if you have an Echo device..because as I’m making my coffee all I say is “Alexa, turn on the Christmas tree”…I love it!!
But my wise guy teenage son tortures me and says “Alexa, turn off the Christmas tree” every time he walks into the kitchen…it’s a good thing he’s so cute!!
Christmas Tree at Night
When I saw this artificial Christmas tree I fell in love with the style and it looked like the real trees that are so common here in New England…OK, I was looking at trees in the summertime…don’t judge, it’s my job.
It’s the National Tree Company 7.5 ft, Norweigan Spruce
It’s crazy how fast this year has flown by! It always hits me when I’m decorating for Christmas.
Now that our boys are older there is less chaos leading up to Christmas…no more waiting until they were all asleep on Christmas Eve to sneak down all the presents that I had hidden up in the attic. But I do miss those days!!
Oh, and the annual Christmas card pictures…when they let me pick out their outfits!!!
See just look at that little one…you just knew he was going to grow up to shut his Mom’s Christmas lights off whenever he got the chance!!!
My living room Christmas tree is decorated with different shades of metallics and whites. The clip-on candles are just a pretty addition to my tree this year (also battery-operated and remote-controlled)
I wrote all the details of how I decorated this Christmas tree and shared all of my DIYs and supplies.
Snowy Christmas Porch
I woke up the other morning and it was snowing! So like any good blogger, I grabbed my down coat and camera and trekked out in my pajamas at 4:45 am!!
Honestly, I love how silent the world is here in New Hampshire after it snows.
I mean it’s pretty darn quiet and dark here anyways, we don’t have street lights and at night it is DARK!!
Plus our town has less than 8,000 people so it’s just a quiet place to live. Just last night the owl in the woods outside my bedroom window was keeping me up because he was hooting so loud…true story!
Everything on the porch just looks prettier blanketed in fresh snow with the lights glowing. Even though I loved how it looked after I decorated it just doesn’t look perfect until it’s covered in snowflakes.
So as I wrap this up, I want to wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season!
Our family has had quite a few ups this past year and of course some downs!
But I try and focus on all the positives from 2022: One new grandson, one son who moved out on his own, and our youngest son who graduated from high school. There have been family weddings and new baby nephews, big family get-togethers…all wonderful events!!
Who knows what next year will bring but I’m ready for it!! But for now, I’m going to shut my computer and enjoy the Christmas lights for the next week and binge as many Christmas movies as I can…oh and there have to be some cookies involved too!
I’d love it if you would go visit my friend Stacy at Bricks N Blooms to see how gorgeous her farmhouse looks all decked out for Christmas and just glowing with all the lights. They just celebrated one year of moving in and you honestly need to see all the changes that they have made in that short time!
Merry Christmas & blessings for the new year!
~Jennifer

Just enjoying the slow Saturday morning to be inspired for my front porch and other indoor spaces. One of the first things I do before even pouring my coffee is turn on the tree lights.
It’s been such a strange Fall up here, so many trees still have their leaves…it’s making it hard for me to get into the spirit!!

Your home is just perfect for the holidays! I’m totally cracking up about your son turning off the lights… There’s nothing better than having a smarta$$ teenage boy in the house! They truly make life more fun, don’t they? Thank you so much for joining our candlelight tour! Merry Christmas to you and your crew. -Anne ♥️
Oh, he is something else!! He also keeps pretending he’s going to kick the tree over and pull off the garlands..good times, good times!! Oh, and let’s not forget when I had my tripod out and getting ready to shoot my living room for the home tours he came and dove onto the sectional and all the pillows I had just fluffed!!!!
