– 2 pounds ground turkey – 1 cup diced yellow onion – 4 garlic cloves; minced – 2 28 ounce cans crushed tomatoes – 1 28 ounce can diced tomatoes – 1 cup chicken broth – 2( 15 ounce) cans kidney beans – 2 (4 ounce) cans chopped green chilis – 1/4 cup chili powder – 3 teaspoons cumin – 2 teaspoons oregano – 2 teaspoons cocoa – 1 teaspoon brown sugar – salt & pepper to taste

Once the turkey was cooked through I added the diced onion & minced garlic and continued to cook until the onion was softened and translucent.
Add Crushed Tomatoes Pour in crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth. Stir together
Next add the Kidney Beans Now add the 2 cans of red kidney beans and the 2(4oz) cans of diced chilis to the slow cooker. Give it all a good stir.
Add All The Spices. – 1/4 cup chili powder – 3 teaspoons cumin – 2 teaspoons oregano – 2 teaspoons cocoa – 1 teaspoon brown sugar – salt & pepper to taste Stir Well. Cover and cook on low heat for 6 hours.
Topping Suggestions: sour cream, shredded cheese, crushed tortilla chips, avocado, & sliced green onions. Serve with corn bread or tortilla chips.
