Makeover A Plastic Playhouse

Jennifer Howard | Cottage on Bunker Hill

It's time to clean up those outdoor kid's toys! Do you have an old plastic playhouse that's looking a little worn out? Make it over with spray paint and make it look new.

Choose Your Spray Paint Colors

I'm going for a beach cottage vibe on this one.  I chose white, gray, and teal for the playhouse makeover Don't Use Gloss Paint!!

I removed the roof, gave the entire house a good cleaning before using a white primer on the house.

Door & Shutters

I did remove the door and shutters to paint but the shutters were tough to get back in. If I did it over I would have painted the shutters in place (cover the playhouse with newspaper while doing it)

Top Tips

For the most durable finish it's important to wait a day between coats of paint.

Matching Chair

I found kid sized Adirondack chairs and spray painted them to match the playhouse

Ready for another Summer!

It looks brand new! Well worth the effort and cheaper than replacing the playhouse.
