Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork

By Jennifer Howard

This is the perfect meal for a busy day when you don’t want to be stuck in the kitchen cooking! Instant Pot Dr. Pepper pulled pork is so easy and delicious.

Let’s get started!

Ingredients

5-6 Pound pork butt

2 Onions, sliced

Flour Bowl
Onion
Jar

12 Ounce can  of Dr. Pepper

Veggies

– Garlic Powder – Paprika – Salt – Pepper

Thermometer

2 Cups BBQ  sauce

Prepare The Pork Butt

01

Add 2 sliced onions to bottom of Intant Pot.  Sprinkle the spices all-over the pork and rub in. Add the pork butt on top of the onions.

Add The Dr. Pepper

02

Pour a 12 ounce can of Dr. Pepper into the Instant Pot. Do not use sugar free soda for this recipe!

Cook

03

Set your Instant Pot on the Meat/Stew setting (or 90 min on high pressure). Let the pressure naturally release when it’s finished cooking.

Remove Pork Butt

04

I moved the pork butt into a big glass bowl and drained all but about 1 cup of the juices from the Instant Pot.

Shred

05

Next, using a fork shred the pork and remove any fat pieces. The meat is so tender it falls apart! Return it to the Instant Pot

Add BBQ Sauce

06

Turn the Instant Pot on the sauté setting and mix in about 2 cups of Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce; stir until it’s warmed through and shut off the Instant Pot.

Serve

05

Serve the pulled pork on soft rolls...the big Hawaiian rolls pair perfectly! We like ours with cole slaw on top.
