Easy Perennials To Grow in New England

Jennifer Howard | Cottage on Bunker Hill

The great thing about having perennials in your garden is they come back every year!

Echinacea (Coneflower)

These garden workhorses will produce daisy-like flowers from mid-summer to Fall. Bonus, pollinators love them!

Peonies. A garden favorite in New England. Peonies will flower in May & June depending on your location.

Bee Balm (Monarda)

This easy-care perennial comes in a variety of pinks, purple, & reds. Known for attracting hummingbirds.

04

Hosta

A must have for the shady areas of your garden. Hosta are so hardy and need little care. Just divide every few years. .

05

Daylilies

Daylilies are another easy perennial to grow. They come in a wide variety of colors and heights. A no-fuss flower!

Phlox is a lovely perennial to add to any garden. The tall stems produce multiple small flowers. Phlox is easy to find at your nursery and is available in lots of pretty colors.

Yarrow is another hardy perennial. Add a few of these to your perennial garden. I love to plant the yellow yarrow next to purple Siberian iris.
