grow it yourself
Jennifer Howard | Cottage on Bunker Hill
There are so many flowers that I grow with the intention of using them to fill my vases in the Summer. Here are a few of my favorites!
Dahlias are the late Summer garden show-offs! These gorgeous blooms are perfect for filling. your vases.

Amaranth is a very dramatic flower to grow. Colorful plumes of flowers that last for a long time in a vase.

If you only have space to grow one flower make it zinnias. Easy to grow and blooms all summer long.

A pretty filler flower that you can grow from seed is statice. It comes in a variety of colors and also makes a good dried flower.
Don't forget about this garden favorite...daisies!
Although they only bloom in the late Spring peonies are one of the most beautiful flowers to add to your garden.
A few of my other favorites are celosia (the fuzzy flowers) and strawflowers. I also dry both of these flowers to use in wreaths in the Fall.
There are so many flowers that you can grow with filling vases in mind. There is nothing better than just going into your yard to bring in a fresh bouquet!
